I was so worried about getting the whole "boot into download/recovery thing right" when I first read the guide. But after comparing it to Window's F8, or going into bios, I figured it out before I actually did it. After I got root, I downloaded the best app I have. Called Quick Boot. Got it on google play...I just realized it was volume up haha my bad...sorry for all the questions. Thanks for the help!!!!
Haha, most of the time "su" then "reboot download" will do the trick (run from a shell on the phone)I was so worried about getting the whole "boot into download/recovery thing right" when I first read the guide. Lol. Listen to you. Running a shell on a cell phone! What's wrong with you? The last time I remember getting that geeky, was when I was running CDBURN from a term in SUSE. That was a long long time ago. Maybe I really am getting to old for this s**t?Haha, most of the time "su" then "reboot download" will do the trick (run from a shell on the phone)

Nah. I'll leave that up to you experts. I imagine that on some ota down the road I'll learn all about adb, busybox, etc. Just hope it's not at 4am while I'm frantically trying to fix a bootloop before my wife wakes up and finds out what I've done to my phoneLol, shell, terminal, command prompt, bash shell, whatever you wanna call
That's where it's at man. Shell and scripting![]()

Easiest way is to just ODIN stock rooted since your gonna root it anywayHow can i get back to stock (md4) by odin and how can i root and install CWM ?
How can i install CWM ???Easiest way is to just ODIN stock rooted since your gonna root it anyway
Here's a direct link to the folder: http://rwilco12.com/downloads.php?dir=Files/Devices/Samsung Galaxy S3 (SPH-L710)/Stock ROMs/JB/MD4
After you choose your data restore type (doesn't matter, full restore if you wanna wipe everything), then choose "Rooted" and download either the .exe or the .tar.md5.
The tar.md5 is for using in ODIN, and the exe is for running by itself.with.your phone connected
Just saw this, thanksExcellent, excellent post!! Great job!!
Download the correct file from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1904099
Then boot into recovery and flash, and you will be on 100% stock with flash counter reset to 0 as well
Note: MAKE SURE TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT FILE FOR YOUR INTERNAL STORAGE SIZE (16GB OR 326B) OR YOU WILL HAVE A BRICK FOR A PHONE.
No, it will brick your phone. I'd suggest to just grab freezas stock rom and flash that. Thanks for this. My only question is I have the hack installed that makes the phone think my SD card is my internal and my internal memory is my SD card so I have 64 gig internal and 16 gig SD. Will this file still work providing I used 16 gig? Thanks
