Quick question here. Sorry if I sound a lil ignorant I just want to make sure I don't brick my phone. I haven't updated my rom in a while and I am still on the LJ7 version of the firmware. My questions is, can I upgrade to MD4 directly from LJ7, skipping MB1, by flashing the MD4 Firmware/modem/baseband update ? Thanks in advance!
I'm pretty sure you can, but I would update incrementally.

Thanks.

I don't mind flashing from LJ7 to MB1 then to MD4 if I can do it all at once in recovery. But I thought I would save time and just go straight to MD4. I should had flashed to MB1 but I was a little lazy then and was happy with the rom I was on. Now that I want to update and go to a new rom I thought going straight to MD4 would be ok too but I just wanted to make sure.

Don't update!!!

The upcoming OTA update may make rooting, using custom recoveries, and flashing ROMs very difficult or impossible and may also cause any customization to result in permanent warranty loss... Samsung's latest update to 4.3 JB that is. I would recommend anyone who wants to do anything to his device stay away from that update unless it is actually "friendly".

So should I wait for the OP post to get updated before attempting this? I just spent hours 3 days ago updating my ROM to the latest version of Wicked Sensations and now I have this annoying update nag in the top left of my screen. Much thanks to anyone who can walk me through this or get me to an updated guide. Thank you!

Edit: Found system and found the fotakill.apk. When I try to copy it to the system/app it says that it is a read only file. I cant find anywhere the exact steps how to fix this.
Grab Root Browser from the Play Store, open it, grant SU permissions, copy the FOTAkill apk to system/app, long click on it, hit permissions. Set them like the attached screenshot, hit OK, and reboot.

Thank you I will try this again. I had to do a system restore and I think I might know why.

Copied Fotakill to system/app just fine. Then I rebooted. Then I went to recovery and wiped BOTH cache and delvic cache. For some reason when it rebooted Sytem UI kept crashin and my clock was off and the pull down menu was gone. I did several reboots with the same thing.

Was I not supposed to wipe Delvik Cache???

Edit: I don't think that wiping botch Caches caused the messup....any reason why the Fotakill.apk would cause the system UI to fail?

None that I know of... I have not used it in years though. Delete it and do what the other suggestion said with build.prop

How do i enter new number to flashed sprint gs3 to metro

Ok so i have a sprint gs3 flashed to metro and due to a personal issue i had to change my number last night. In my angered state i absentmindedly dialed *611 and during the process of trying to get a new number noticed that my phone was trying to update ota. Im not sure what the update was and i believe it was from sprints network but i was able to cancel it and not lose my root but im not sure if it may have changed some of my other settings before i canceled it. I knew that i would have to go into my "hidden menu" and change (myphonenumber)@mtropcs.com but cant figure out how to put the new number so When i dial vm it dials the new number and not the old one. As of right now i cant get any data or 3g connection. Where do i have to go to enter in the new number so i can get it onto metropcs?

Is the NJ2 update the one that has suddenly started prompting me to update recently? Currently on ND8.

Is there any harm in updating and rooting again through ODIN?
