@liveroy,

There were issues with call loudspeaker when one had run an LP rom but with an old KK Bootloader/Radio, just wondering if this downgrade may have a similar effect only now in reverse with KK rom but now with newer LP Modem/Radio ? Thanks
No such bug, at least not for me. I'm using the loudspeaker when I'm taking sometimes and it works normality. With that said, I don't know many ppl using it at all, so I got no other info besides my own.

For some reason, I cannot reply from tapatalk...

Just wanted to give a feedback on the downgrade status after having 4.4.4 again for some time now...
Phone works just well, super stable and all. After changing back to dalvik, I have to say that the apps works ok.
I do not reboot the phone often, it's been on for 23 days, with 71% of deep sleep time.

Battery has gained some autonomy, not as good as it was when it was new, but phone has over 2 years now.
Comparing it with LP, I did see an increase in battery life for sure!.

Keeping the "motorola update" app non-updated, no OTA notification ever appears.

So, everything is good on 4.4.4.
Phone is more stable, battery life increased compared to LP, and wave to wake works like a charm.

I've the old 4.4.4 bugs though, such as disconnecting the charger and the screen not waking up (thus having and android process looping in the back), and sometimes android os goes crazy on the battery...
Other than that, phone is more solid now that with 5.x

So, if you have any doubt, just downgrade and see the benefits yourself.

Always bummed that my USCC devices never get an honorable mention on the forums. It's because I'm a cheapskate and work pays for 20% of the bill if I stick with USCC. ;) I'm pretty sure I'm safe to follow this method to go from 5.1 to 4.4.2 but just curious if anyone else has on the XT1055/looking for re-assurance. Thanks m8s

Better go to 4.4.4, so you don't accidentally accept the 4.4.4 OTA and hard B brick your device.Other than that, there should be no issues.

Memory isn't great but I don't think USCC ever put out a 4.4.4. Or at least I can't find it on any of the file hosts. Do you think it's a better idea to use a different carriers' 4.4.4 or go to the USCC ver? tia

I don't know either, but if there is no 4.4.4, then it's no problem to use 4.4.2 image. Better stick to your own model image, not that it won't work but just to avoid any trouble, like some radio issues or camera of you use image from other model or carrier.

Anyway, good luck on the downgrade and read the first post and faq well.

Hey guys, first thanks for this guide, but I wonder if there is a way to relock the device after the downgrade. Just because I dont like the message when I boot up the phone.

You can relock it, but the message won't be gone.Actually you probably want to stay unlocked, since you can flash the clogo with a modified one, that will remove the message.

Search around, there was a topic about that.

Hi.

I have a question. I had stock 4.4.4. running on my Moto X so I rooted and unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP on it. I then flashed CM12.1 on it. I was caught short one day when I needed GPS so I flashed a TWRP backup of stock 4.4.4. This 4.4.4. backup does not feel right. Wave to wake does not work, the vibration does not feel the same as my original 4.4.4. (eg when shaking for the camera) and a notification telling me to uninstall Motorola Services Sensors Firmware is constantly in the status bar (I have read this is a bad idea).

So I would like to get my phone back to stock 4.4.4. and have it just as it was. Being as my phone is on 4.4.4 could I still use this guide?

Thanks.

Uninstall the Motorola Services FW, its not a bad idea, read the first post, its covered there. This may also be causing some of your sensors not working, since different FW for the sensors is installed.
The guide is valid so far for anything you might have on your phone, regardless of Android version.

Hello.

Thanks for your quick reply.

So do you think it is pointless to flash your 4.4.4. image if I am already running 4.4.4. from a twrp backup?

I have read about someone who uninstalled the Motorola Services FW and got into a bootloop or something (it was a while ago and I can't remember the exact problem he had) so that is why I have never downgraded it. So it should be safe to do this?

Also, your link to the retail GB 4.4.4. image is dead in the OP.

Thanks.

You didnt read the OP , around the bottom of first post, please read it.It's mentioned there about the Moto services FW downgrade there.
There is no reason reflashing 4.4.4 over 4.4.4 to be a problem, I did that myself few times, no problems whatsoever.
About the dead link in OP, it might be dead, I don't know, but I don't intend updating the OP anyway.Use some search engine and find the files you need.It only takes a minute.

Hi.

I did the downgrade for the Moto services FW and it went fine. Thanks!

I won't need to relash 4.4.4. TBH as everything seems ok again.

Thanks for your help.
