Stock firmware for the A3-A40?

Ok, so no root, or custom recovery for the A3-A40 until today.
But is there at least a stock firmware to download somewhere?
I would like to try to port TWRP to this Firmware, but need at least a boot.img or recovery.img.
Since this device supports bootloader unlocking, the risk to brick the device, is relatively low.

"Why didn' you checked the link" before posting - 404 not found.
However, this is just an OTA update.zip, NOT a full FIRMWARE!
No "recovery.img", etc.pp.

No driver problem.
I have the same problem with an Acer A3-A40.
SP Flash Tool (latest) on this PC works with other MTK phones, but not with this particular Acer junk.
I guess, Acer has modified preloader/bootloader to break SPFT compatibility.
Sucks...really.

I have an A1-810 unlocked. Is there a rom that can flash via fastboot or sideload?

Changing Android OS on a Acer Iconia A5008 A3-B20

I am new to XDA and need some guidance. I purchased 5 of the Acer Tablets that had varying issues, cracked screens, broken LCD's. I have repaired 2. My problem is both of them have the Android 5.1 OS which ties the users Google acct. to the tablet. I've come to the conclusion the only way to by-pass. this is to replace the OS. This is where I need assistance. I've tried to search online for how to do this, and there are so many different answers, with some info left out, or use terminology I don't understand. What I'm looking for is someone who could give me the step by step process to achieve this. I am new to doing this but not dumb, just not up to speed. Any help would be truly appreciated. If I am in to wrong lane to be asking this question, I apologize, and ask for directions to the correct forum.

You could just factory reset from recovery mode

Hello I downloaded the needed to make the flash on my tablet icon B1-711.When I try to flash I get the error brom error: s_ft_download_fail (4008). I tried to change com, change the cable but nothing ever gets me the same Error. I followed your guide and I removed the flag on preloader and used as download agent the DA_A3B1.bin file. You can help me please. Thanks

Was anybody successful, to read the firmware from the A3-A40?
Or, at least connect the SPFT with this device?

SPFT connects, but immediately disconnects with:
Code:
[B]S_BROM_DOWNLOAD_DA_FAIL (2004)[/B]

All other MTK's work fine with SPFT, only the crappy Iconia doesn't...

Download the recovery flashable zip and use adb sideload. This worked for me on A1-713.

Did you check the official support site for firmwares? If there is no newer version, there is no newer OS. ( Or maybe use the xda search :p )

Flash recovery and SUPERSU for ROOT for A1-81x

    Hi all,

Because flashing recovery on A1-810/A1-811 turned out to be a little different than others, I decided to rewrite the steps a little. I've done this procedure many times, so I'm quite sure it works this way. So far I have not been able to brick my device this way, so no real danger (unless you'd use files for different devices or type wrong parameters). In all cases - unbricking can always be done flashing a full ROM (instructions see first post).

Here are the *magic* the steps:

    • Download and unpack drivers: http://bit.ly/1hujx8o
      • Run "install_driver.exe" AS ADMINISTRATOR and wait about 2 minutes. After this you will see a popup window (Driver for xxx installed), close it and reboot your PC.
      • Turn your tablet off and connect it to PC. You will see a popup message "New device detected". Wait until drivers will be installed OR until tab will disconnect from PC.
    • Download the archive for unlocking your A1-811: http://bit.ly/1JChdUt or A1-810: http://bit.ly/1M4AbXn
Unpack the archive to your folder.
    • Launch "/SP Flash Tool/flash_tool.exe" AS ADMINISTRATOR.
    • Press "File"->"Open Scatter-loading file...", choose MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt from the "4.2 + 4.4 Unlock" folder
    • Press "Window"->"Write Memory", new tab will appear, open it.
    • Click "Open Raw Data", choose "secuoff.img" from the "4.2 + 4.4 Unlock" folder.
    • Configure options:
      • Memory Setting = EMMC
      • Begin Address = 0x3D80000
      • Container Length = 0x006D20
    • Click "Write Memory" and connect your tab to PC.
      • Red progress bar will appear.
      • Gray-green progress will appear.
      • Green circle will appear and you will hear the "device disconnected" sound.
    • Disconnect tab, DO NOT turn it on!
    • After this return to the "Download" tab.
    • First select only PRELOADER (use preloader_unlocked.bin) and SEC_RO (use secuoff.img).
    • Press "Download" and connect your tab to PC. Flashing process will start about in 20 seconds.
    • You will see following progress bars:
      • Red progress bar.
      • Purple progress bar.
      • Yellow progress bar.
      • Green circle.
    • Disconnect tab, DO NOT turn it on!
    • Second select only RECOVERY (use CWM-6.0.5.0_A1-811-eagleowl.img, Carliv has mount issues). See attached screenshot. Click on the word RECOVERY to select the new recovery file
    • Press "Download" and connect your tab to PC. Flashing process will start about in 20 seconds.
    • You will see following progress bars:
      • Red progress bar.
      • Purple progress bar.
      • Yellow progress bar.
      • Green circle.
    • Disconnect your tab from PC. Do not boot Android, try to boot in recovery:
    • Press and Hold Volume- (lower volume, the one closest to the power button) and turn tablet on. Hold Vol-minus till the recovery has been loaded
    • In my case USB mount didn't work. So I used sideload to install SuperSU:
    • Reboot tab and check whether root was succesfull
    • I installed Xposed with the Xposed installer using the option "Recovery (flash zip automatically)". It rebooted and installed it without having to select it from sdcard...
    IF SOMETHING WENT WRONG:
There's a folder called "Rescue" for some OS versions. In SPFT load a scatter from that folder and flash files using "Download" button. You will get a warning window "Not all images loaded...", press "Yes".
    TROUBLESHOOTING AND SPFT ERRORS:
SPFT Error "??(2)": Reboot your PC and retry.
SPFT Error #10*3: Reinstall driver, try another USB port.
SPFT Error #1021 (#8045): Your tab is completely dead. Nothing can revive it.
SPFT Error #2004: The most dangerous and common error. See "Fixing reconnecting" below.
SPFT Error #3144: This error may be on B1 tablets. For fixing it you need to remove back cover.
When red bar will reach 100%, wait about 1 second and disconnect the battery.
But if it will not help, you need to use testpoint.
SPFT Error #4001: Disconnect tab's battery and retry without it.
SPFT Error #4010 (#4032): The problem is on PC side. Try to reinstall driver, use another
USB port and cable. The most users who got this problem has solved
it by using another PC. Try to Disable signature enforcement if you're on Windows 8 / 8.1
SPFT Error #61**: You will get this error when you have unlocked your bootloader and trying to flash.
Solution: in SPFT UNcheck all blocks except PRELOADER, flash it using "Download" button.
Then flash ALL blocks EXCEPT PRELOADER using "Download" button.
SPFT Error #8038: Flash using "Download" button.

    Fixing reconnecting:
When you connect your tab to PC, it recognizes tab. But after few seconds tab starts to reconnect every 3-5 seconds. Only two solutions are available at the moment:
    1. Disconnect tab from PC, press Reset button (located in the small hole) THREE TIMES and try to flash again.
    2. Try to flash without battery. Stuck on "Searching..." in SPFT:
    See SPFT Error #4032.
Stuck on Acer logo: Press "Reset" and turn tab on again.
    Regards,

    Nika.
