Old guide said not to touch the sensor during calibration. New one is touch touch on all tests but the black rubber test.

Make sure you see a bunch of red lines after you run the calibration and it fails. Not just one.

Glad to hear it worked for you! I'm going to try to reset the poll now that I have everything corrected. I also just uploaded a crappy video guide and posted that to the top of the post.

I don't expect anyone to donate, but if you feel so inclined my donate button should be up to date with my PayPal!

@antnyhills great job once more ..
Just one thing , on OP instructions you're missing the step to edit with root explorer the engineering mode config ( folder)

encrypt app "false
encrypt adb "false"
and reboot

@antnyhills this is great work! But I assume you need to use device spesific persist.img? Even if its broken. I needed to rma mine because changing my display at service center broke my FP. And I think that even that I had backed up working persist.img it some how thinked that my device was different caused by different ID on a display? I tried to ask but no-one knew for sure..And that was result after talking to customer service dude who I spoke same language with..

Correct, you need your personal persist.img

Even though it is broken it still has all over your original factory calibrations including the fingerprint calibrations.

I can happily say that after following the OP's video step by step, my fingerprint now works! I appreciate all the time and research that was done for this fix. Thanks again!

Wait, so with this guide it is possible to fix FP even without 'original' persist image?
Yes, this fixes an already broken persist.img

As part of the guide you do backup and use your current broken persist. If you follow this guide, please read the instructions very carefully. Backup you broken persist.img to a computer as you will need this in order to fix it. Although broken it still has all your original factory calibrations.
