I followed this guide but instead used a newer U version, PI3 to be exact.
Everything is working fine except the bluetooth refuses to turn on at all.
I have tried rebooting but I have not tried redoing the whole process, does anyone have any idea why this might be happening?
Thank you.

My apologies guys, Defrosting the "Bluetooth Share" fixed the issue for me.

I think the newest is PL4 which was the link I provided. And like I said the CSC file I flashed was the one that didn't have "home" Everything is working for me including Bluetooth.

I have a g930v that I flashed g930u onto. It seems like i'm not getting good signal anymore with verizon sim. most of the time I get "no network connection". Is there something I can do? How do I go back to v version? I heard people softbrick because u version is latest and there isn't v version available from the same patch release.

Question in hopes of an an answer

So I am a Newbie, hence the name, and tried to root my Verizon S7 Edge, not knowing you couldn't because of the locked bootloader. However, I somehow managed to flash firmware which changed it to a SM-G935U instead of SM-G935V and it rolled the firmware from 7.0 to 6.0.1 and I can't figure out how to get it restored or keep it and get rid of the weird icons in the notification bar...for IMS settings or the WiFI lag and password thing...Can you or anyone help me? Let me know what information you need to help you determine what level of stupidity I performed LOL

Thanks,
Newbie1978

You can root your phone on verizon and that was where the weird icons vame from.

To restore download the Odin files from my thread for QA2 and use ODIN to flash them like you flashed the 935U files. That'll put you back onto Verizon stock 7.0.

To fix the icons you need to root and then flash files in the OP.
Be cautious about rooting though as this can make the battery and performance suck.

I've tried that but either the CP or AP files come back as corrupt and I'm at a loss what else to do....and if I can root a verizon phone then why does it say "not rooted" when I use a root checker app? Thanks alot for your help, I really appreciate it!

Search for the PrinceComsy version of Odin and that will hopefully fix your error.

The VoLTE icon comes from installing the modded bootimage that you use to root. Did you flash that file?

Please help

So, I successfully downloaded and installed SM-935u over SM-935v but have been having problems rooting my phone. I've redone the process at least 5 times trying to do the ABD and SuperSU installation (and enabled developed options - usb debuggion on). I also flashed the phone with the original samsung tar file attached. Yet, the root will not install correctly. My phone does display 935u during the download screen so I know that worked at least. Root checker says "Sorry! Root access is not properly installed on this device.. Device: SM-G935u Android Version: 6.0.1"

Please help me out guys! I would love to have access to SuperSU and all the other rooted applications.

Did the SU bat go through the entire process, or did it just flash quickly?

Make sure you do not have secure startup enabled, and also make sure "verify apps over USB" is disabled in developer settings before you run the batch script. I had trouble getting root working last night and it was because of secure startup being enabled.

Ok, I read all 72 pages of the comments and realized, I was trying to flash an earlier version. Used the later link in the thread and it worked! However, its still showing 6.0.1 version of Android and I thought I'm getting a 7. Oh well, at least, I didn't brick it!

Thank you !!

Hi, I tried to follow directions in Part 1, getting the following error: "SW REV FAIL: [aboot] fused 4 > binary 2"
From little Googling, it looks like as if I am trying to downgrade and the phone is blocking it. Problem is, now I cannot boot normally. It is trying to boot in recovery mode, gives me a few options.. and I am not sure what to do next.. Please help! :)

Go to this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-s7-edge/how-to/odin-stock-nougat-firmware-t3570156 click the link to the U firmware its the newest, then flash it the same way, you are correct the phone wont accept a downgrade but this will work you just need the newest version.

Please help I lost my root access by turning of all daemons by mistake. I rooted successfully before by flashing & pushing SU binary in SM-G930T running Nougat. However now when I factory reset it & flash with Odin with latest firmware and then try to install SU & the batch file it says "not user mountable in fstab" then a little after it says something like failed to install SuperSU / permission denied " it then restarts my phone and I dont see the custom unlocked logo & its not rooted however SU app is install with of course the "Binary not installed message"
I'm lost and dont know what to do please help I miss root access.
I think I should be using cmd but I have no knowledge whatsoever :(

After flashing back to stock did you flash the EngBoot image before flashing SU?
