That is correct: but I do have separate settings for those cores on other devices.

I also did not realize that kernel auditor was incompetent in changing the settings that needed to be changed. I will remove that part of my guide and clarify the better way of flashing your mod, including letting it handle the cpu.Your other devices probably weren't running cores that have separate settings for each core. We have two clusters of two cores (internally called "little" and "big"). Kernel Adiutor is adjusting /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor and /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq, but that only adjusts settings for cpu0 and cpu1 (the first cluster, the "little" cores). Cores cpu2 and cpu3 have their own settings (governor, scaling, frequency, etc.) that don't follow the cluster managed by cpu0. Additionally, the developer's engboot image changes other device settings like setting /sys/module/lpm_levels/parameters/sleep_disabled to 'Y', which causes unnecessary battery drain. Kernel Adiutor doesn't have a way to configure that or the IPv4 settings or various other device settings that got changed with engboot. That's why I developed the fix package. ;D
Hey bro hijack my thread anytime. I'm just trying to help with the experience I've had collecting the pieces I have put together. Thanks for all that you do for the community! Thanks, dajmanjt -- I'm not going to (persistently) hijack the thread here, but I do want to help out a few confused people I see so here's a big ol' reply post with answers, links, and fixes...
No, no, no! Don't use Kernel Adiutor to make any changes, for several reasons. First, it falsely believes that our first physical CPU core controls the settings for all our cores so you are setting max CPU speed for the big 2.15 GHz cores at the 1 .6 GHz speed. This will throttle your performance. Secondly, and more importantly, it's not able to change many other CPU settings that need to be fixed like enabling CPU idling sleep settings, changing the governor for the big cores, adjusting scaling load targets, etc. Uninstall Kernel Adiutor and use my flashable update instead and save yourself the grief.
My flashable update includes the patched imsservice.apk and framework-res.apk as well as verbose instructions for Xposed, so you can cut down the number of steps required by following my guide
That's the SecurityLogAgent app and it's removed in my fix+debloat flashable update.
I have an unroot guide in the S7 forum that includes stock images for the Verizon S7 Edge, too. However, I recommend you try again with my guide and see if perhaps there was a mis-step somewhere that's leading to your poor experience -- you shouldn't be seeing diminished performance at all.
I really feel like I'm probably hijacking this thread a little, but if it helps out anyone who's getting stuck or confused about performance, etc., then it's a win for everyone. Thanks to dajmanjt for his work getting people rolling and enjoy!
Yep same here mark. I'm assuming this phone specifically is a no go. I used kernel auditor exclusively BECAUSE it handled multiple clusters on my moto x pure. Developers recommended it. Not so on the s7That is correct: but I do have separate settings for those cores on other devices.

Are you running windows? If so, I can help you to an extent.Dunno what I could be doing wrong, I run the root.bat and nothing happens, phone doesn't reboot or anything. I've tried the phone connected and on and also in download mode. A little guidance would be great!
Thanks!
Ok...so how do I remove the Volte icon within the status bar? I've done everything as specified and it's still present and very unsightly.[/QUOTE
Use adb to remove /system/priv-app/imsservice directory. )ONLY DO THIS IF YOU FLASHED THE ZIP IN THE OP.
Basically the u firmware has this in priv-app and the v had it in app.

Thanks for the info Dameon. I've updated the guide and credited you with the info!Ok...so how do I remove the Volte icon within the status bar? I've done everything as specified and it's still present and very unsightly.[/QUOTE

I for one do NOT feel comfortable flashing the debloat zip. I debloat myself and only remove what I am comfortable with. The only zip I recommend is the fix zip WITHOUT the debloat script, which is the one I linked in the op. I see too many people having issues with the debloat script and I feel more comfortable doing that part myself with titanium.I will say that after flashing the fix and debloat zip, I am getting some weird behavior with the fingerprint scanner. It's very slow and there is a huge delay between read attempts.

I totally agree (and it's my script): I don't like randomly flashing other people's debloat scripts because you never know what people consider 'bloat'.I for one do NOT feel comfortable flashing the debloat zip. Likewise and getting lots of lag. I only used the fix zip. Not as smooth as before the fix and removal of kernel adiutor. ;(I will say that after flashing the fix and debloat zip, I am getting some weird behavior with the fingerprint scanner. I am seeing the exact opposite. Much smoother and faster since I flashed this and removed kernel auditor. Did you turn off dvfs?Likewise and getting lots of lag. I only used the fix zip. Not as smooth as before the fix and removal of kernel adiutor. ;(

I thought dvfs was not activated in the zip.I am seeing the exact opposite. Much smoother and faster since I flashed this and removed kernel auditor. Did you turn off dvfs?
You can turn it off via xtouchwiz. I saw much better performance by leaving it ON. Just wondering if you had turned it off.I thought dvfs was not activated in the zip.
