My cell: 0p6, rooted, android 10.3.12, magisk 23 and twrp 3.4.0-11

Any actual complete guide to upgrade to A11 stable and get twrp working?

Thanks
If, as I suspect, OOS 11 repartitions the phone to have one superpartition with virtual images, there will be a long wait until working TWRP is released. Current releases can't handle dynamic partitions.

Phones with superpartition appeared about 2 years ago and yet there is no TWRP for any of them. For example, Oneplus 8 and higher use exclusively Lineage recovery, which requires side-load (PC) to install a custom rom. Lineage recovery doesn't decrypt data, so, no back up/restore, just flashing via PC.

So, the ETA is 'wait' or never... .

There's a way to keep twrp on A11 betas and stable also . But also requires to have twrp in the first place to begin with.
After OTA Beta/Stable 11 installation (in system not in recovery )
Head over to magisk and use A/B retention script.
After that install magisk to inactive slot and bam!
No crashdump no hussle fully working twrp and root

I confirmed its working on OB3 OOS 11

follow the guide -

  1. make sure you are on OOS11 OB3
  2. download the twrp that is provided by author click here
  3. download OOS11 OB3 full rom
  4. go to fastboot mode and flash above twrp .img file by typing "fastboot flash boot twrp3.5.2-11_with_stock_kernel.img"
  5. dont reboot from bootloader. use volume key to toggle recovery mode and then press power button to select recovery mode
  6. then your device will boot into recovery mode (twrp)
  7. now download the latest twrp official zip from here
  8. now move the downloaded OB3 ROM and TWRP zip to your device while you are in twrp recovery (using MTP)
  9. now from twrp , go to Reboot > Recovery
  10. now flash the Full ROM
  11. after flashing , dont reboot.. Now, flash the twrp zip again
  12. now reboot and enjoy..
  13. u can also flash latest magisk to gain root

Backup first, that's a must as always.
If coming from OOS 10 base -
    1. Flash OOS 11 OB1/hotfix, after its completion do not reboot
    2. Install official/unofficial twrp recovery image to ramdisk from advance menu in TWRP
    3. Reboot to recovery
    4.a. install magisk(optional) and reboot
    4.b. repeat 1 and 2, reboot again then, 4.a.

If already on OOS 11 OB1/hotfix-
    1. Flash the attached boot.img from bootloader
    2. Reboot to recovery from bootloader itself(booting to system at this point will result in bootloop)
    3. Follow the process as mentioned for OOS 10

Thx to Soft_M for boot image

NOTE: Above method is not compatible with OB2
OB2,OB3, closed release users directly flash official latest TWRP zip
NOTE: Installing TWRP on OB3 with any given method will cause safety net to fail

Does this work with the HOTFIX build for OB1?
Yes it does, actually I tested this method on hotfix
