Debugging is ON, i'm using win 7 64 bit and there is no option to turn off MTP mode in settings\xperia\connectivity... in my phone the only option that appears in connectivy is "Install pc companion" with a check box.

Can anyone help me, i really want JB.

It worked perfect on my device. At first time i had problems with my Windows 8 x64 and the x64 version of flash tools, but then solved just running the x32 flash tools. The phone looks great and much faster. For the ones that dont see the Ok button on the flash tools just double click the ftf. Thanks

Try running "Flashtool" instead of "Flashtool64"
if that doesn't work, try from another PC

Same here, I've tried every possible solution I could find.
I reinstalled flashtool a few times, reinstalled the drivers etc. etc.
Debugging mode on/off.
Bootloader unlocked (I did have the possibility to unlock the bootloader btw)
I also tried rooting it: no luck either.
Was it my laptop causing the problems? Might be, but I also tried this on another pc and got similar errors.
Operating systems: win 8 32 bit, win 7 32 bit.
I guess I'll just have to wait for sony to push the update.

For all of you having problems with DRIVERS, I recommend you to go check THIS THREAD: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240614

Two things I learned by using the search function today:
1.- When installing the USB drivers, apart from selecting Xperia S, better tick "Flashmode drivers" too
2.- Sometimes Windows messes up the drivers, and a clean up should be made prior to re-installing the drivers

I can't test it myself because I can't replicate the problem on my PCs, so this is the best I can do to try to help you all

edit: my phone can't stay at flash mode more than ~30 seconds.

Here is what i did to solve my problem.
I was using flashtool 0.9.10.2 beta version, i downloaded 0.9.10.1 from the link on the first page.
Started flashtool-drivers.exe and installed all xperia S drivers + flashmode
Restarted PC and connected my phone in flash mode... at this time windows tried to install SEMC FLASH DRIVER but suddenly my phone couldnt be in flash mode for more than 30 seconds...
So i Unpluged my phone and started flashtool and did the same as before, the first time an error occurred when i plugged the phone in flash mode, but a message popped up to say that SEMC was succesfully installed... then i tried again and finally i have JB !

BTW i like it but i have issues with the camera shortcut, it does not open by pressing the side button or shortcut at locked screen

I was facing the same problem and I mentioned it in the start of this thread. Initially, I tried flashing it using the latest version of flashtool. Someone suggested me to use the beta version. I tried that too but I got the same error a couple of times. Suddenly, after few tries (about 7 - 8), the flashing finally begun.

.

I WAS FINALY ABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM ("no dirvers", "MTP mode", "Debugging Off", etc)
AND I found a solution :victory:

Try this:

After selecting the firmware LT26i 6.2.B.200 WORLD
Seek for the "Exclude" box and scroll down. CHECK "TA"
Then I was able to flash

Happy flashing :cowboy:

(Many thanks to my daughter for offering her phone as a lab rat. I BET you all have unlocked your bootloader and lost your DRM-TA partitions, and you DIDN'T tell me on purpose, so I had to go through all of the possible variables until I found the issue... :p)
