I have read 90% of posts in this thread..and i couldn't get an answer for my question...

Am I able to run an application as root? (with or without locked bootloader)

With temp-root I was not able to run the application (as mentioned by some people).

You can if you push the su binaries and busybox.

There is a script by Eugene to do just that.

Thanks I will give it a shot. Will it void warranty or does it return to original state? Checked the thread and didn't seem to find any info.

All I need is to run a simple command... "echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches"

Just got my hands on a HTC Desire Z and I'm about to smash it in the walls because I can't downgrade, and the guide with fre3vo is the only one I haven't tried.

Gold card doesn't work on sensation! Goldcard is for nandroid flash devices

Downgrading a Desire Z from Gingerbread requires both Fre3vo *and* a gold card.

Actually it worked. Not this method, I was just searching for fre3vo file for my HTC Desire Z.
Avast seems to have something against me, as soon as I disabled it I was able to download it from cyanogenmod.com
