I froze everything in the OP and now tethering does not work... It turns on but my computers struggle to connect and then i'm stuck with limited connectivity and i can't get to the web. Does anyone know what I can unfreeze without doing them one by one to see which one broke it?

Heads up if you disable MotoCare, then you don't have the Battery Saver option in the Battery Menu.
On my XT1053 (T-Mobile), I froze all 3 entries related to Moto Care and I still have the battery saver option. The three I froze: Moto Care 1.1.9, MotoCare 1.1 (yes, a difference of a space in name), MotoCareInt 1.0.

Would be good to know what are some of these apps before freezing them.

8. com.motorola.authentification
9. com.motorola.digitalpersonalization 1.0
10. com.motorola.emarphoneextns
11. com.motorola.motgeofencesvc
41. Motorola DriveActivator 1.0
49. MotoSignatureApp 1.0
55. Rescue Add-On: Motorola 7.2.488
XX. Motorola Slpc System 1.00.00

I can't find useful information about them anywhere...

can i disable com.qualcomm.qualcommsettings from the running apps?
I would not mess with qualcomm stuff if I were you.
It's related to hardware and something may not work properly if you do...

Maybe a stupid question but,
whats the difference in disabling/freezing with Titanium Back up vs just going to the app Settings and disabling from there?

Use your own discretion. I am not responsible if you break your phone. Feel free to suggest more and I will add them to the list after I test it!

This is what I froze so far:
[NOTE: Google Now, Active Notifications and Touchless Control still work perfectly]
Good list.

Couple of questions.

1. When you say freeze, do you mean Disable it from "Apps"?
2. Also, what does the colour green and red indicate? My understanding is Green item can safely be disabled but, red with some catch.

It has been quite some time since you posted. Any issues you faced with any apps? Also, how is your battery life?

Anyone notice significant improvements in battery life or performance after freezing all these? How much of a difference does it actually make?
Doing this and greenifying other stuff...and turning off sync and location services has my x consistently getting over 24 hours on a charge with 5 to 7 hours screen time.

These cut backs aren't for everyone of course. Its a matter of preference. :)

Thanks!

Well I definitely use sync and location services, I think both of those make a bigger difference. Not sure if these things would help. I use assist, active notifications, touchless control and all that. Just looking to freeze things i don't need or use.

Yeah, everyone has different needs. That's why its hard to compare battery stats. 5plus hours screen usually is from turning lots off....lots. lol

New here, long time lurker and member. Don't post much. Subscribed. This is an awesome thread. I had most of this stuff already uninstalled but there was a fee I didn't because I couldn't remember if they were safe to get rid of or not.

My wife's moto is stock(4.2.2 i think) no root and she barely makes it a day. I'm 4.4.2 w/root and I can make it almost 30 some odd hours without a charge.

I could not find a 442 list here. Is there a 442 list?
+1 .. WTH is Adam?

Check out the how is your battery life thread. Start at the end and read back. Tonnes of tips and troubleshooting help there. Or post some screens there with gsam. There's usually always a way to fix battery issues. ;)

Hi guys sorry for the absence. I ended up switching back to my iphone 5 for a few months as a few friends were working on Jailbreak tweaks and I was helping them test betas/experimental builds etc. I am now back fulltime on the Moto X.

I'm back to square one in 4.4.2. Seems things have changed a bit. Have about 26 services frozen atm gonna use it for a few days and report back.

If anyone has an updated list they tested I'd be glad to add it to the OP for the time being.

[edit]
Preliminary findings
The following services should not be disabled if you use active notifications (my fav feature of Moto X):
Motorola Slpc Service: 1.00.02
Motorola Slpc System: 1.00.00

[edit2]
The latest 6 or so motorola related services I disabled recently have made increased the responsiveness of active notifications. Ex. take the phone out of your pocket and the unlock ring shows, the time it takes fromwhen you drag the ring down to unlock to seeing the homescreen seems faster now. Pretty sure it's not placebo effect.

I will post a list tomorrow night as I want to make sure the freeze list does not break any core functionality. So far Active Notifications and Touchless controls seems to work flawlessly.

[edit3] edited OP to reflect that the list is old (pre 4.4.2)

[edit4]
Here is my updated list (used this config over the weekend on 4.4.2 official, no issues with Active Notifications/Touchless controls):
Audio Effects [Built in equalizer will not show up in settings if you disable this]
Demo Mode
Device Management 1.0
Help 1.1.19
MotoCare 1.1
MotoCareInt 1.0
Motorola Assist 1.2.20
Motorola Assist framework
Motorola Checkin 1.0
Motorola Connect 1.1.11 [DO NOT DISABLE IF YOU WISH TO USE MOTOROLA CONNECT]
Motorola Contextual Services 5.14.20 (Active Notifications and Touchless Controls are unharmed by this as per my testing)
Motorola DriveActivator 1.1 [OTG storage?? Will test this later]
Motorola ID 1.0 [DO NOT DISABLE IF YOU WISH TO USE MOTOROLA CONNECT]
Motorola Migrate 1.1.16 [DO NOT DISABLE IF YOU WISH TO USE MOTOROLA'S BUILT IN MIGRATE TOOL]
Motorola Notification 1.0
Motorola One Time Init 4.4.2-23
Motorola Services 6 [DO NOT DISABLE IF YOU WISH TO USE MOTOROLA CONNECT]
Motorola Services Main 1.0 [DO NOT DISABLE IF YOU WISH TO USE MOTOROLA CONNECT]
Motorola Skip Setup 1.0.40 [Obviously, don't freeze if you use Motorola Skip...]
Motorola Slpc Service 1.00.02 [Do not freeze this as Active Notifications is dependant on it!!!]
Motorola Slpc System 1.00.00 [Do not freeze this as Active Notifications is dependant on it!!!]
Motorola Spotlight Player [Does what it says]
MotorolaOTA 1.0
MotoSignatureApp 1.0
Rescue Add-On: Motorola 7.3.501 [Do not disable if you wish to use Motorola built-in rescue software (remote wipe??)]
Wireless Display 1.0 [DO NOT DISABLE IF YOU WISH TO USE WIRELESS DISPLAY]
Wireless Display Service 1.0 [DO NOT DISABLE IF YOU WISH TO USE WIRELESS DISPLAY]
Wireless Display Widget 1.0 [DO NOT DISABLE IF YOU WISH TO USE WIRELESS DISPLAY]

[edit] I'm reaching the max number of apps/services I can disable without affecting my daily usage. Close to 73. I will update sometime today or tomorrow.
