Just to update I used this list to freeze many things in 4.4.3. While there are definitely some apps that are missing in the phone and maybe a few to add to the list so far there are no adverse effects.

Actually, if you remove "55. MotoSignatureApp 1.0", Active Display won't work, as this app seems to check its signature.
I'm not trying to dismiss what you're saying however my active notification works perfectly without it.
I will add a precautionary note under this service to reflect that it caused the adverse side effect for you, just in case it happens to other users.

Well, I'm on a brazilian retail XT1058 4.4.3 ROM, so things might be a bit different. Anyway, thanks for your effort in doing this list, I've been dying to find out what I could freeze or not.

PS: I'm now getting a much more efficient battery. Something around 18h with 5h30 of screen time, almost twice the time I was used to.

Ah okay if you're on 4.4.3 that could possibly explain why that service breaks Active Notifications for you.
I'm happy to hear that it has helped you with battery life =)

Once Rogers releases official 4.4.3 for my phone I will revise the list.

I don't have the patience anymore to fix/find workarounds for the small little bugs in custom ROM's so I just try to optimize the stock one as much as I can. Just, I have different hobbies and stuff now but Android is still cool =)

I personally don't use Motorola Connect (I have in the past) so if the above config gives you any trouble with Motorola software aside from Active Notifications and/or touchless controls please help me troubleshoot and let me know which service is giving the issue so that I can correct this list.
Motorola Notification 1.0 is needed to sign in and to use the Motorola Connect, at least on my XT1056.

This is a list of what I've completely removed from my (4.2.2) 16GB and 32GB Sprint Moto X's using TiBu: (Wiped Data and Deleted all of them one-by-one, all in one sitting...then rebooted to recovery and wiped Cache & Dalvik) This is based largely on Scorpion's recommendations in the OP with his AT&T version Moto X, combined with my own past experience stripping stock Sprint Motorola's. (Admiral, Xprt, Photon, etc.) NOTE: I still use Active Notifications; this strip-down does not affect the functionality of Active Notifications at all, so no worries there. I've been running this stripped down stock ROM for a few weeks now, with no issues so far...

*******

Cheers! :)

PS--Thanks and big props to Scorpion!!! :)
Thanks for the list, my device is much snappier since removing the bloat. Unfortunately, I'm getting Active Display crashes now. I only removed what you recommended. Any ideas?

EDIT: Can someone throw MotoSignatureApp 1.0 apk up on a filehost so I can see if that is the issue? Thank you!

Found the apk on an Aptotide repository and installed it. I no longer receive force closes for Active Display, but it simply doesn't work. Even tried reinstalling AD from GP to no avail, I'm stumped. I'll keep an eye on this thread in hopes that a solution comes up before I'm forced into a factory firmware reinstallation.

Integrate updates into rom

This may not be the best place for this, and if not please direct me to the right place.

On two other android phones and a tablet I've been able to integrate system apps back into the rom without a problem. But now with this Moto X 2013 4.4.4 DEV Ed., the system flips out. I can get most to work by first making it a user app, then reconverting it to a system app. The major problems that cause the phone to be anywhere from annoying to inoperable are Google Play Services, Play Store, and Motorola Modality Services.

I guess what I'm asking is, is there work around or at least an explanation on why and how this is that way?

Hi guys.
I'm on stock 4.4.2. Should I upgrade to 4.4.4 with official notification? How's stability and battery life?
Thanks
If your bootloader isn't unlocked and you can't through Motorola, unlock using Sunshine first before going to 4.4.4. If not go for it. If you upgrade to 4.4.4 you won't be able to use Sunshine and unlock.

Sorry I don't get it.
My bootloader is not unlocked. I can upgrade to 4.4.4 via normal motorola install through wifi. If I do this, will I be able to unlock in the future? If I can, do you recommend normal motorola upgrade?

Thanks!

It depends on your phone if you can unlock. But anything past 4.4.2 as of now will not be able to be unlocked using Sunshine. Try motos website and see if you can unlock. Just a warning if you upgrade to 4.4.4 with an unlockable phone you can't unlock the bootloader with Sunshine. If none of that matters(custom roms/kernels/root access) take the update.

Ok. It's hard to understand for me (maybe due to my bad english). My bootloader is like stock. So it is locked. But is it unlockable? How to know that. I have the xt1058 at&t.
I'm interested in ROMs not for now, but for the future. I understand you don't recommend me to take the official motorola 4.4.4 upgrade.

Do you accept private messages?
Thanks a lot

EDIT. Oh Sunshine is paid. Is there anything free? Nevermind, it's cheap
EDIT. Woow Big miskate if update to 4.4.4. I've been reading about what you said...

Forgive me for so many questions. I got no good news about xt1058 at&t about unlocking BL. But what about rooting? I'm really interested in getting root to freez the damm at&t address book and other stuff
