I'm trying this on a Verizon v10 - patch 24a. I get this error message

I think i will just update my g5 to latest update. Gps is horrible on zv3. I will probably just use my good g3 that is rooted untill i get another rootable phone and just keep the g5 as a back up. Not a bad phone but the no root kills me (wifi tether and the full touch mirror to my appradio are sooooo missed)

This is not a bootloader unlock, so even if other ROMs existed, no. Some apps may be freezable (see autoprime's comments for ADB commands).



Again, I'm pretty sure nothing past ZV4 will work, and you can't roll back to ZV4 from anything higher.

Do you know if I buy a brand new G5 from sprint, will it come zv4 out of the box now?

Almost definitely not. And even if it did, I don't know that anybody got any reliable results with this method anyway. It's a fine phone, but if you want root I'd look elsewhere. And if you're shopping at Sprint, the G6 is the same price, $15/mo for 24 months.

thanks, I'm so tired of not having root since I got the g4. my kid just got the g5 today. It came in the mail to where she is at school and I had her check the software. She said it started updating immediately and by the time she looked it was zv9. My wife has it too and neither of them care about root. It is a nice phone. On a loyalty upgrade it's $4.36 monthly /24 months. The loyalty credits us back 10 dollars per month. It makes it almost too good to pass up.

Hi @Honestly Annoying I am running a LG Tribute HD model LGLS676 virgin mobile aka sprint and have been trying to root for months, we have a thread with 65 pages of attempts and work stuffs but no real success but recently i learned that the sim unlock from the LG G5 works for us as well as other stuff. We run V3 software stock with no fastboot access and no rollback options. DM verity affects us as well. I want to try this root method but im wondering could this possibly a. work for us and b. could we port this to work for us? I've built our software from source a long time ago but i didn't see a debug option for our kern
el or build at least with aosp. I'm still new but trying hard. Could anyone point me in the right direction? Thank you for your work and if you would rather pm me I really appreciate it either way! ?
