[Guide] Get your MSL# on your Sprint SGS3

After much searching, I've found the easiest method so far to get your MSL. Even works on the 4.3 update.

Download the Android MSL reader from here: http://tools.flashingtools.com/SPCUtility.apk

Install, then open and hit read SPC

Yeah, I have a Nexus 5 on 4.4.2 Kit Kat and none of these apps work for me. Also, every time I've called Sprint they tell me they can't retrieve it and to call tech support. Please tell me there is a way to get the MSL/SPC

Thank you both for this. I've been searching all over the freaking internet to figure out how to get my MSL, following multiple guides and this was the only...ONLY tool that worked. I've been so frustrated with this, so thank you CNexus for providing the tool, and Frankerebus for providing the QR code so I could quickly add it to my phone.

Hmmmmmm, didn't work with my rooted US Cellular SCH-R530U(SGS3) running 4.3

or

getprop terminal command as SU.....

Anyone have other ideas?

I have spent 12 hours trying and retrying all the methods I have read in the posts in this thread and had no success!! I know what I am doing around a phone/computer or more so than 99% of people. Though was stuck and up all night stressing my failure. I found a link to an .apk that works super fast! I have a Sprint S3 running the latest Wicked Sensations so this should work for all of you if you are having issues still.....

Instructions you must follow ([MUST BE USING WIFI)
1. Connect to Wifi
2. In browser go to (tools.flashingtools.com)
3. Download Android SPC/MSL reader
4. Install and run program
5. Write your 6 digit number down and keep it safe

Not sure who to thank for this easy method though it isn't me! Good Liuck!

You can get the MSL easily, just download an app called "MSL utility".

I have tried every suggestion from page 1 on. I'm at Android 4.4.2 and cannot even flash back to an earlier ROM. Finally, this APK worked. Thanks!

Just for future reference, you can flash any rom you want, you just can't use Odin to flash a full tar below the build you're on or downgrade the bootloader... Flashing roms with recovery quirks just like it did before though

when ever I use MSL Utility it says unfortunately MSL Utility has stopped. Sprint S5 running lollipop. any suggestions. Actually no MSL reader works for me. The others all say unable to get ril.MSL
