Thanks to all previous guide writers I managed to get a fully working Team Rocket Rom ICS v1.5 without any problems. My procedure:

Prerequisites:
Samsung Kies (google)
Download the mobileOdin lite and extract to internalSD ( http://goo.gl/SougM )
Download the mobileOdin FlashKernel and extract to internalSD ( http://goo.gl/nIATQ )
Download the Chainfire ICS Repack, extract anything to internalSD ( http://goo.gl/E0x5D )
Download Team Rocket Rom ICS v1.4 and copy to internalSD ( http://goo.gl/K9YCv )
Download Team Rocket Rom ICS v1.5 and copy to internalSD ( http://goo.gl/cK9yV )

Anything copied to a folder inside the internal SD?

Ok, let's go:

0. You are rooted on a gingerbread rom
1. Install MobileODIN + MobileOdin FlashKernel, from your internal SD
2. Flash the "I9220"-file with MobileODIN, from your internal SD
3. System reboots into recovery
4. Install gApps, from your internal SD
5. Fullwipe (Factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik)
6. Reboot your device twice, no matter if the launcher doesn't start or it has some problems, just do a reboot
7. Boot into recovery, do a Fullwipe (Factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik)
8. Flash TeamRocket ICS 1.4, from your internal SD
9. Still in recovery do a Fullwipe (Factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik)
10. Reboot
11. Setup Google Account
12. Reboot into recovery, (don't wipe) Flash TeamRocket ICS 1.5 (still don't wipe)
13. Reboot your device
Enjoy

Edit: Using TriangleAway (Link) to reset your binary-counter to zero and to remove the yellow warning triangle at boot
----------------------

Not working:
  • Chinese & Team Rocket ICS without native VOIP-calling enabled :-/
  • Can't manage to get the "continuous voice recognition" feature of ICS working. If I start voice recognition from the chinese keyboard, then it's just the old one where it's listening until you stop talking. Any ideas?
--> Edit: working with ICS flashable AOSP keyboard, see at bottom
  • Device encryption isn't working, bootloop. Had to start again and reinstall anything

Working:
Anything else: S-Pen, Notes, Calls, Video, Photo, Music, Data, Wifi, Browser, Apps = Anything working properly, no single FC, no Bootloop, no SOD.

AOSP flashable Keyboard:
[APP][ICS]Flashable AOSP keyboard

Edit: Yes, i flashed the aosp keyboard in cwm, changed the default keyboart to it, and now when I click the mic-button the continuous-voice-recognition is working!

AOSP Launcher:
[APP] Apex Launcher Beta (Android 4.0+)

The last time I checked Mobile Odin was an paid app...

DeKubus is absolutely right.

OP - your guide is very much appreciated but you would be wise to remove that link and preferably delete the file from the download service in question.
I'm sorry about that. I honestly didn't know that this is a paid app. I got that link directly from the other ICS guide here in the Note forum. I see the link is already dead, so it's not of a problem anymore. Are there any alternative solutions beisde using mobile odin? -> Is it the same as using PC based Odin?

Thanks for the reply and I'm sorry again. I'm a developer by myself so I know what pirated software means to devs :-/

There's a lite version of Mobile Odin which is free somewhere in this forum, search for it.
The advantage of mobile odin instead of PC Odin is it does not increase your binary counter and Triangle icon does not appear on your Note

What the difference between this thread the the thread in the 'Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Android Developement group called:

[02/24/12][Team Rocket ROM][open beta ICS v4.0.3][v1.5][reworked 15Tooglebar]

Is it the same thing but just two different methods yielding the same result?

Thank you. I changed the link to the thread with the mobileOdin package, and I uploaded the MobileOdin FlashKernel we need for this guide to ZippyShare.

There is no difference. This guide is just detailed and imho the steps are more clear. I explain exactly how you get a rooted Chinese ICS (Chainfire's repack) so you can install Team Rocket Rom ICS properly. If you follow this guide, you'll get the Team Rocket Rom ICS without any problems.

sorry bro, but this guide seems very redundant. theres a better guide, the third one in my sig, and once you have the cf repack, you can flash any other ics rom...

IMHO many guides on flashing custom ROMs are redundant. A few small differences for the less advanced users are propably causing the biggest problems. To have a guide exactly for what you want to achieve (getting Team Rocket Rom from scratch) is sometimes better, than reading through 3 guides to get the point.
At least at my very first line of the tutorial I am giving props to all the guide-writers from which I have my current knowledge. ;)

Out of the three links in your sig, I think your first and third link are the same.
Yes, which states that dr. xp55 generates about 66.66% redundancy

:D thanks bro

Please explain how they are the same? The first link is all about stock gingerbread roms. The third link is specifically going from a stock/rooted gingerbread from to an ics rom. Not redundant at all.

Better check the actual links (not the text) again, the 1st and 3rd take you to the same place. The text may be different, but the place is links you to is the same. Check it.

Actually you can also see in text, link 1 & 3 both end in 150970

If it was real deatailed, you'd also show how to root the Note rather than starting with a rooted Note

A noob like me (and sure there are others) would first have to go to a different section on how to rooth their Note before they could use you guide.

Don't take wrong, because it looks like you did a real good job and a lot of work too and I and many appreciate it.

It just seems like everyone is sayign their guide is the best.

Those that know, don't brag;

Oh wow alright, yea that's my bad :p thanks for that.

And by the way, to the OP, your guide is appreciated in that you took out the time to write it out and stuff. I was just saying that there's already a similar guide, that's slightly more detailed then yours. And it gets to the same position, an ics rom.

Anyways don't want to cause a rift or anything. To the OP, thanks for the guide.
