I wonder why my phone can not switch to Lab Network, while I have chosen lab network but when my phone reboot and reopened my phone is still in production network mode (because I think just go through Lab Netwok => That my phone will unlook ? Right? )

As a follow-up about the posting on the LG Security Bulletins site regarding the hidden menu patch... They've changed the wording on their security bulletin, so where previously under "Affected Device information" it said "Android devices with OS 6.0.1, 7.0", now it says "Android devices with OS 6.0.1, 7.0 for Sprint."

Not really anything we didn't already know, mainly a confirmation that updating past ZVB is a BAD, BAD, STUPID IDEA if you want to keep your phone unlocked.

Make sure to turn on Developer Options and turn off Automatic System Updates, kids!

Fixed that for you, "past ZVA" as ZVB is the culprit here.
EDIT: I read it wrong, you are absolutely correct. ZVB is the last safe build for GSM Unlock.

The bulletin is causing some odd formatting if I quote it; the details can be found here:
https://lgsecurity.lge.com/security_updates.html

The description explicitly states now it is patching features previously accessible through the hidden menus this guide exposes.

So far on ZVB my HiddenmenuCall app still opens fine and all settings from the GSM unlock guide are configurable. I believe there is a security issue elsewhere in the hidden menus LG wanted to address, but I wouldn't put it past them to target the unlock method itself as they already took the OP's video down from YouTube. Will report if find anything different.

As a side note, any here that do NOT accept the July security update when it comes may have a real shot at a root method in the form of BroadPwn exploit, if and when a safe root method based on it is made public.

ZVB contains the June updates. BroadPwn (CVE-2017-9417) and LG's Hidden Menu patch (LVE-SMP-170015) are July patches which would be in the next update. Of course, I stand to be corrected on that. However, I'd be quite happy if whatever changes they were planning to make to the hidden menu were already made in ZVB.

Lol i had one of the only sprint g4s on lolipop still. I tell people and tell people. U may want the new hotness in updates but never update in the hopes of a new hack, patch or method to come out eventually we will be like i cant even believe we used to use that unsecure crap.
Plus with no chance of returning back if lg or sprint ***** something up 2ith there "fixes"
No offence but if people want to try and update ill let em. And if somethings fixed or broken. I hate it for em but they can test it for me. Lol

Im always down for unexplored testing just not for lg and sprint. Now when and if a root tool comes forth im for bricking my device but its in good hope trial and error.

With the G5 you sort of have to update to use this method correctly lol I've had decent luck with updates usually. Like the 7.0 update for my M9 made a wonder of a difference in performance.

You are using the hidden menu correct? And following the guide in the OP?

You really need to explain more. How can you add apn if hidden menu doesn't work?
