3g working
Lte is not working
How can I get the lte to act.
I made all the settings mentioned.
It must be a different setting (I have done it before) I can not do it now
Dial ##3282#, tap LTE then View. See if "LTE Enabled" is turned on. If it's off, you can try turning it on. I'm not sure it's necessary all the time but it was needed for my brother's phone.

If you don't have your 6-digit MSL (Service Code), try the procedure here to get it.

Once you have your MSL, dial ##3282#, tap LTE, but this time tap Edit and enter your MSL. Then you can tap the "LTE Enabled" and turn it on. You may also want to turn "LTE Roaming" on but I'm not sure if this is necessary.

Unlocking the LG G5 Sprint model!

First and foremost thank @vittger over in this thread where the method was posted - HERE

Reason I am making this Guide/post is it seems like even though its been posted, theres not a thread for it and some miss the actual method of doing it.

I haven't tested or seen it tested on any OS below Android 7.0 so it may not work unless you've updated.

1. Download this APK - HERE
2.Install the APK
3 Open the App
4. Scroll down & Select IOT(CDG2)
5.Select LTE setting,Select Operation Mode, Then Select Lab Network
6. Device will reboot, Then go back to step 3,4, and 5, and the option Band25 make sure its enabled. scroll down to LTE Data roam config, and enable all the bands towards the bottom in that menu as well.
7. Go back to the Hidden menu APK main menu, ModemProtocol, RAT Selection, then choose GSM/WCDMA/LTE Auto
8. Reboot and you should be good to go!
9. You now have you Sprint LG G5 LS992 GSM unlocked for both US and international GSM carriers :)

To Add your APN (for data):
Go to, The hidden menu APK, IOT(CDG2), LTE Settings,
APN settings and then add your APN for your carrier

Remember you'll need to set APN type to "default" and
authentication type to "None" or else it wont work

Tested and working with AT&T 3G/HSPA,4G/LTE And T-Mobile
2G/4G/LTE working perfectly fine in the USA. Also tested with a GiffGaff UK sim roaming in the US.

This method also works with the LG V20 and LG Tribute HD so it may work on other LG devices.

Having an issue with it stop working?
Disable your screen lock. No password/swipe to unlock/fingerprints - Having a password seems to be an issue with this method.

Here's a quick YouTube video I made,

thanks you!!

I was able to get an LG G Stylo from Virgin Mobile to work on a Verizon MVNO, Total Wireless! It works perfectly fine on LTE/3G once tracfone.vzwentp is in APNs and LTE ROAM GUARD is disabled! Though, it will always display R for data and "Preferred System" in the carrier name. This is super neat.

That is never recommended. At anytime they'll see it's a non Verizon device and deactivate it. Verizon operates completely different than a GSM Carrier.

The MNVO I'm on doesn't check which device is being used at any given time. All you have to do is drop in an IMEI and they'll provision it, and it will work in any compatible CDMA phone (I've used multiple testing phones w/ CDMA enabled on Total Wireless). I know that Verizon only operates on CDMA / LTE -> which is why I wanted to see if a Sprint phone would work.

Verizon MNVOs are strick! Normally after a few weeks when they see a non Verizon device or compatible they kick it. Unless it's an iPhone, newer Moto etc.

I do have a question though, does CDMA 1x/3G data work? Or just LTE data. Normally I never see non LTE data working.

CDMA 1X/3G data do work, albeit with the roaming symbol. LTE also works and when calling it drops down to 3G / no data because no VoLTE. I performed a PRL update today and it pulled down the latest Verizon one and had no trouble -- and it even got rid of the roaming problem and oddly my phone says it's on Virgin Mobile, and I have full 3G/1X in the statusbar. This might encourage me to buy the V20, as I hear that HiddenMenuCall works on that, before the May patch.

Is there any progress as of yet for getting the hidden settings back on the Tribute HD after the ZV5 patch? Bout ready to get her a new phone and toss this one as we will NEVER activate it on Sprint.

It's patched. Only other way is possible remote unlock but it'll cost more than the phone is worth.

thank you.
I applied what you told me.
But the lte roaming feature is off this is not active.
I could not intervene.
Do you have a method.
You can look at additional pictures

Mine looks the same as yours, except LTE Roaming is active and I can turn it on and off. I don't know why you can't change it.

Also, under Band Priority is listed bands 4, 12, 25, 26, 41, 2, 5, 3 and 7 so I would think these are the LTE bands this phone supports.

Just because the bands in the hidden menu are there doesn't mean the phone supports them.

There's antirollback. Downgrading will brick your device.

thanks! tried it and it works with my canadian carrier Koodo .

But just curious, should i update LS992? it says NRD90U for Build and LS992ZV9 and says there is an android system update.

should i update it or not (i assume it becomes ZV10?)? i dont want to break my ability to GSM unlock. thanks!
