As it’s previously been stated, it’s been patched. You will have to buy a remote unlock.

There’s loads of them on eBay. Just be careful. Some try and sell the same method as this guide

My opinion is to never use sprint devices on anything other than sprint. It’s just not worth it, unless it was free

My G5 is a AT&T GSM unlocked one which was $140 with a few scratches on eBay a few months ago. The sprint model is only really supposed to work on the cdma network Sprint, that’s why there’s all these hoops to get it working.

Last time I seen prices for remote unlock was around $20 or so.

$10 normal price for remote unlock via octopus.
Make sure that whoever unlocks the phone is also able to unlock the APN settings menu.

The difference between a locked and unlocked SIM slot is a single entry in a SQLite database called node.db in the /carrier partition. This is no different than previous generations of Sprint LG phones. The Octopus unlocks that I've read about (and this has quite possibly changed, but I'm not certain) appear to dump the /carrier partition, change that database entry and flash it back to the phone. Changing the network mode from Production to Lab via the hidden menu unlocked the phone exactly the same way, except of course it used the system's official method to change the database. This doesn't unlock the APN settings menu, though, so it only solves half of the problem.

Big red letters Do not downgrade zvc for unlock This now has been said many times.
You will brick your devices and until a zvc kdz or tot is released there is no fix for the brick,
There are already several members who have tried the downgrade and found out the hard way....

AGAIN DO NOT ATTEMPT ZVC DOWNGRADES OR UNRECOVERABLE BRICKS WILL OCCUR!!!!!

Source code for the ZVC update has been posted to LG's site, so the update itself is no doubt days or even hours from being released. It's 99.999% certain that this will the the patch that removes the ability to access the hidden menu, which will mean no ability to unlock the phone (and edit the APN settings, I suspect) after it has been installed.

IF YOU WANT YOUR SPRINT G5 TO STAY UNLOCKED AND/OR UNLOCKABLE, DO NOT UPGRADE PAST ZVB.

I did the update. No Hidden Menu. Is there another way to unlock sprint to gsm? Or can I reverse the update ?
Thanks
