Attempt 2
On 4.3 I was able to pull it no problem. 4.4 I am having issues myself getting it pulled out. Same errors you are getting. There is a way to pull using adb and terminal, I have yet to try it out. I am waiting a little longer so I can dig around deeper.

well, damn. I know this isnt quite the right thread but its kinda close.

I was trying to flash the rom using heimdall. pit file loaded fine. but when i was loading the *.tar.gz of the rom from the dev section it said it was missing the feature.xml file and it fails to finish loading.

bah, guess i will have to wait to get a windows box. boo:(

What are you flashing? In heimdall it won't flag a standard tar file from a download unless taken apart and built like the package o redistributed. I am having issues getting heelball to recognize the device if you have already flagged the 4.4.2 update. Working on it. Seems to be locked down quite well.

Ehhh, I'm still on 4.3. I was hoping to get 4.4 to install with heimdall but it's being stupid.

There's 2 "roms" in the dev thread. Only the stock one has the files needed to flash the room but it still says it's missing something.

Are you saying if I download the update from sammy directly it will have different files in it an ill be able to flash it?

No. If you download the one from Sammy, you must flash it via Odin. I was able to command line pull the pit for 4.4, but cannot get a successful flash with heimdall. Maybe look into jodin or j-odin in the meantime while I work on the heimdall package. I have already created it, but still won't flash. Here is the pit just in case you need it. (Wait a bit, on phone).

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I do have my 4.3 pit.
Isn't it the same as a 4.4 pit? Isn't a pit file just a directory of partitions? So it shouldn't matter which one I have

how do you command line pull the pit file. JOdin does not work, its unable to pull the pit file, then I found a pit file for the SM-N900T and used it, but it was unable to establish a connection a flash...The reason I posted in here because its all related. I tried using front end and had the same issues

It *should* be, but I was unable to create the heimdall package using the pit from 4.3. So I thought, WTF?!?! Pulled from 4.4.2 stock image, built package, but can't flash with heimdall any longer. It has to have something to do with the 4.4.2 bootloader and drivers.

Well, seems like the pit will not upload even when zipped here on xda today. Check the OP in a minute or two, will have an updated one, but you are correct, flashing the stock heimdall image from the download. And if you want to flash with heimdall back to JB MI7, make sure you download the tar.gz I have in the OP. JB is working, but KitKat is giving me a ton of issues.

well i was able to get the 4.4 update on my phone with heimdall. my only issue now is i cant root it without that 4.4 pit file i guess. heimdall defaults to looking for one. it wont use the 4.3 one that i had.

any ideas as to where to look? sorry i kinda took over the thread. ma bad. i'll help here if i can figure out how to finish my install

Sorry man, not neglecting you. I was in training. Check the op under the thanks section. Ghibli has a thread that helped me pull the pit file. I used pit editor to verify it. I could then build using heumdall again, but still having USB error while flashing. I am pretty sure it had to do with the kk update. Also check the thread above this one for the update pit file if that is what you are looking for...

Right, but you were on 4.3 then. After 4.4 can you flash? This is where I am stuck. Try your print-pit again.

Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
na, it wont print-pit. it has the same errors. failing to download pit file.

i just tried assigning the file you sent and it bypassed that and still is trying to look for a pit? why would it let you add a pit then look for one anyway

and no, i have the stock recovery. it has the standard options. load from adb, etc

Having the same issues myself. I verified the pit using pit magic and the program from jodin web pit verifier. I have been banging my head since last week.

The only saving grace for me is I have a windows, Linux, and mac , so I was able to root right away... They must have locker this bootlegger down really well. You can download virtual box and a copy of windows to get you up and running...

Yes this is what I want to know, possibly the bootloader is locked from what has been circulating but Tmobile has never locked the bootloader before
