Flash an older firmware (not rom) for example the 3.2.4 firmware, than reflash your prefered recovery and then flash the rom

hello,

i tried that way but it shows some error 7.

please help'

Are you sure that you are using the right twrp version 3.0.2-19 and the official community build 3.5.3 and not 3.5.2?

I clean flashed and updated to 3.5.3 successfully, so now can I flash original twrp recovery instead of the modified one? As I know Oneplus has solved that problem with 3.5.3?

i am now at 3.2.6. this thear is okay for me right? if i wanna flash the official 3.5.3? i mean, i wouldn't be here if i could side-load through stock recovery the 3.5.3.
.
and after successfully flashing this 3.5.3 with the help of this custom twrp, how i will return to my stock 3.2.6 without breaking anything like fingerprint sensor!

I saw that many ppl have problems to flash the new 3.5.3 rom with a rooted device and TWRP.
This is how I dirty flashed it successfully without losing personal data (internal storage).
It's pretty easy actually.

If you have already installed the 3.5.2 Community Build and the modified TWRP:
  1. Download the full zip 3.5.3 rom from the official OnePlus 3 Website: http://downloads.oneplus.net/devices/oneplus-3/
  2. Copy the full zip to the sdcard
  3. Copy SuperSU and Xposed(if needed) to the scard (can be found in the attachements)
  4. Boot into TWRP and install the full 3.5.3 zip (no data wiping needed)
  5. After the full zip installation is done, immediately install SuperSU and Xposed (if needed)
  6. Wipe Cache/Dalvik after SuperSu and Xposed is installed
  7. Reboot System
NO data will be lost during this process!

If you have an older version than 3.5.2 Community Build:
  1. Download the TWRP Recovery 3.0.2-19 from the attachements or from the original post of eng.stk in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68691560&postcount=56 and flash it via "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" (or however you prefer to install the recovery)
  2. Download the full zip 3.5.3 rom from the official OnePlus 3 Website: http://downloads.oneplus.net/devices/oneplus-3/
  3. Copy the full zip to the sdcard
  4. Copy SuperSU and Xposed(if needed) to the scard (can be found in the attachements)
  5. Boot into TWRP and install the full 3.5.3 zip (no data wiping needed)
  6. After the full zip installation is done, immediately install SuperSU and Xposed (if needed)
  7. Wipe Cache/Dalvik after SuperSu and Xposed is installed
  8. Reboot System
NO data will be lost during this process!

I can't guarantee that this is working for you, so make a backup first.
For me everything is working just perfectly, there is no need to reflash TWRP after the update, it's still there!
Every single setting is just like before the update.
Hi I am on the latest build 3.5.3 and when I flash twrp flashing hapens ok but whn i go to recovery mode thr is no recovery on the phone it appears to be black screen...

The Oxygen OS 3.5.4 Community Build just went live. I'm assuming that the installation instructions are the same for 3.5.4 just like when you're upgrading from 3.5.2 to 3.5.3
