In this guide I plan to teach noobs how to change build props. This will be a step by step of what apps to use to edit build props and how to use each app to edit build props. Everyone is welcome into this thread its not just for noobs. I welcome anyone to come here either to give knowledge or guildience to others. I don't know everything I'm still in the learning process to guys. But I know enough to help others learn to do the simple things in editing anything.

So, here we go guys rules first as always

1.NO FLAMING PERIOD this is a learning thread not a place to bash noobs
2.SEARCH SEARCH SEARCH is ur best friend here
3.don't ask repeat questions plz allow time for them to be answered
4.No question is a dumb question so just ask what you got to ask
5.and lastly plz be respectful of others

These guys are always on speed dial so consider this your first n last warning!!!!

APPS
Okay now these are apps you can use to edit build props there both are for free in the play store I will give links to them.

1.Rom ToolBox is the easiest one to use IMO easier to navigate and find what you need to get it done quicker
LINK:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.liberty.toolbox

2.ES file (root explore) is for a lil more advanced user but not by much thou. This app can explore farther into ur phone then rom toolbox digging into ur system files. So, you can really do a lot more with this app as far as editing build props
LINK:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop

Step by Step guilde to use each app to edit build props

ROM TOOLBOX
1.download n install from the link above(which of course I'm sure you know that)
2.open the app
3.once open this app u have to swipe left or right to get to the next page so now swipe left n u will see the next page and you will see build props should be the 3rd tab down
4.once in the build props tab you can scroll up and down and see all the build props listed from A to Z
5.So, now hit ur hard menu key (the one to the left of your home button) and it pulls up options amd looking at them u will see edit tap on it and you see a list of all the build props and now they can be editied in this screen.
6.once you have made all yours changes and whatnot you see a floppy disk tap on it and it will save all the edits you done to the build props once saved hit menu again n u will reboot tap that n all ur changes will take effect

ES File Explore Manager
1. Download and install from link above
2.open app
3.tap menu hard key and goto settings and scroll to root settings and check all the boxs in that option this allow es file explore to make changes to your files and back out of settings
4.now that ur out of settings look in the top left corner amd you will see a star with favorites under it tap on it and a window opens up and show home, a phone, downloads, pictures and ur SD card now tap on the phone icon
5.you will see folders this is the files of the rom your using so scroll down until see a folder that says system tap on it
6.now scroll down until you see build props and tap on it and a window will pop up you see some options to choose from use the option that es file editor and tap on it
7.now you see a list of the build props just like in the steps of rom toolbox edit the build props you want to edit and once ur done tap the hard menu key and hit save
8. Now if your rom has a 4 in 1 boot menu which most roms do hit restart and then reboot and then the changes will be made

To stop the OTA notification
There some roms that hasn't updated to mb1 yet and for the people that still are on LJ7 these changes to the build prop with stop the notification coming back to your phone the list I'm fixing to give you will be the one u need to change just take off the LJ7 and MB1 in its place

Build props before

ro.build.Id=JZO54K.L710VPBLJ7

ro.build.version.incremental=L710VPBLJ7

ro.build.description=d2spr-user 4.1.1
JZO54 L710VPBLJ7 release-keys

ro.build.fingerprint=samsung/d2spr/d2spr:4.1.1/JZO54K/L710VPBLJ7:user/release-keys

ro.build.PDA=L710VPBLJ7

ro.build.hidden_ver=L710VPBLJ7

build props after

ro.build.Id=JZO54K.L710VPBMB1 or MD4

ro.build.version.incremental=L710VPBMB1 or MD4

ro.build.description=d2spr-user 4.1.1
JZO54 L710VPBMB1 or MD4 release-keys

ro.build.fingerprint=samsung/d2spr/d2spr:4.1.1/JZO54K/L710VPBMB1 or MD4:user/release-keys

ro.build.PDA=L710VPBMB1 or MD4

ro.build.hidden_ver=L710VPBMB1 or MD4

*NOTE* you don't have to do the ro.build.id if you don't want to if you it just change what it says when you look at your about phone in settings

This is all I have for now I will be updating weekly with different build props and things to help battery and performance on your phone

Hope everyone enjoys this thanks for your time

Re: {Guide} How to edit build props for noobs

What exactly did the tweaks you posted do though?! The page I linked told you what the edits did.
I haven't posted any tweaks yet and what i have posted is the build props to change to stop MB1 update notification from coming back if your running a rom that is still on LJ7 i got 4 threads full tweaks that me and team has been testing tweaking for the last 4 or 5 months we have tweaked ktoonzs kernel to be one of the best kernels to use with our tweaks and mods we have come up with and proven that they work on Sprint, Verizon, AT&T and USC carriers
