if your phone is dead black screen but it was able to detect when inserting usb to pc. but no vibrate what could this issue be:confused:

I was trying to upgrade the phone but the program kept saying i had to power off the phone, press volume up and then plug the cable back in. But every time i plug the phone in, window prompted me to formad a disk. So after a lot of tries i cliqued in the format option and formated the drive that windows had prompted. Now my phone is dead and even when i plug it into my computer nothing happens on either side. Just dead dead. What can i do. please!!! i've tryide the hard reset buttons sequence but nothing happens again. man i'm so sad!!!
same issue here. accidentally formatted. What to do next?
HELP

This is only to those who are having problems w/ flashing using NCS because of the Qualcomm MSM Technologies device that has no driver.

So, after several months (thanks to an increased popularity of this phone), I was able to use NCS to flash again. The key, as it turns out, to change from Qualcomm bootloader to Nokia DLOAD. Here is how: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1702815

Then you can follow this guide.

Did you actually manage to pull that off? Copy-pasting straight into the phones bootlader memory looks extremely dangerous. And people already bricked some phones that way.

I managed to install every single Qualcomm MSM Technologies driver (yellow triangles in device manager aren't showing up anymore); now I'm trying to flash the phone via dead usb by selecting RM-817 (as someone suggested previously on this thread) but the device is not recognized. I've tried to connect it by pressing both power On and Vol+ or just Vol+ but i didn't succeed.

Since some of you managed to make these things work, could someone help me and tell me what I'm doing wrong?

tried that too, on a different computer with windows 7 instead of XP...now when i connect the phone i get the "format disk?" request, but the NCS flashing utility keeps asking to connect the device while pressing Vol+.
i'm going insane with this...any other advice?

EDIT: finally solved by refurbishing instead of recoverying the phone; this option didn't require to go in download mode, which caused me a boatload of problems...thanks for the good advice, +1 for you mate!

EDIT2: for those who need, for any reason, the qualcomm drivers, check out this thread, that's where I got them; I didn't follow the suggested procedure, I simply pointed to the unzipped folder when asked by the OS ;)

Glad that u solved this slimhunter! Watch out for your Qualcomm bootloader cause it will always ask if u wanna "format disk", NEVER do that.

The good thing is that u xperience should help many cas WP is new and lot of this could happens to anyone.

Best regards.

Yes, I did... and after flashing the stock Tango T-Mobile ROM, gave my phone away.

But if I were to keep the phone, I would be more cautious and, perhaps, interested in keeping the unlocked Qualcomm bootloader.

What the heck, man?! This thread is plenty of people who made your same mistake, why didn't you read everything carefully BEFORE working on your phone? :(
I think you'll have to take your phone to a Nokia Point for servicing...read previous messages for further advice!

Nevermind, figured it out. I had to install a few drivers to get my netbook to recognize my phone. Took so long to figure that out.

Follow carefully all of the instructions and ALL of the posts (even if the thread is long), you could find out what you're doing wrong - e.g.: you didn't update Nokia Care Suite to v5 or you've renamed your packages with the wrong RM-XXX code - and correct your mistakes.

Also, for the demo mode, try refurbishing instead of flashing the phone straight, as I said I did in post #68

Let me know if you manage to solve your problems :fingers-crossed:

Hi,
Thanks for replying.
Thing is I still have the qualcomm loader, to refurbish using NCS first need to get the nokia Dload, might I miss something if shifting to Nokia Dload? Like installing custum ROMs, etc. Anyway, as currently the device is not showing IMEI key if *#06#, and goes into flight mode after inserting SIM card.

Thanks
