Ursa minor is specifically made for the andromeda rom so I would advise using their kernel. I've been running it for months and love it.

Excellent video tutorial. Did my first custom rom today after using the ursa minor menu to mount the phone and copy the compressed rom onto the phone then installed it. Worked like a champ!

So my captivate is currently stuck in the PHONE--!--PC part.
What I did was because I didn't have 3button fix, I got into download mode with adb command,
now its stuck in PHONE--!--PC and my computer doesn't recognized my device.
I've already tried uninstalling & reinstalling the usb driver a few times, and tried all the screen turn black twice a few times already, none of them works!
What should I do?!?!

I installed Ursa Minor from your instructions but my recovery is not ok.
I dont have the option : install from sd card
The recovery was flashed from ROM Manager application but it is not ok.
How can I flash another recovery?

This is not helpfull at all sorry.
I flashed a .md5 file with a BL with Odin but the only thing that has changed is that now I have another additional screen with AT&T before the screen with Ursa Minor...
But still no option for installing from sdcard in the recovery menu.
It seems that my recovery cannot be overwritten from Odin...
Update, today I tried to take a Photo and my Camera is not working!
I get a message: Camera Failed.

Here you'll find Odin KK4 (2.3.5), which will get you on GB. Afterwards, flash: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26710533&postcount=1 - That will get you cwm recovery and root.
That's the standard, from there, you can get up to JB by following the ROM's instruction you want to flash.
Is there a way to use scripts on this ROM? Suddenly find myself needing it.

That should get you started. From there, you'll need to flash stock KK4 with Odin.

You're gonna have to be clearer. What exactly have you done and are trying to do?
Have you installed drivers in your PC? If not install KIES, restart PC, re-try.
