Can anyone tell how long it took them to flash from 2.2 official version to 2.3.5 UCKK1? I am using Odin3Excution v1.81 (from the one-click package with boot loader) and followed all steps listed in the thread: "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1300843". The only thing that I did not do was a factory reset since it was optional. In that thread, the claim was that the flash would happen in 2-3 minutes, but I have been waiting for more than 15 minutes now, and starting to get worried..

Thanks,
Ramesh.

odin sometimes locks up. it happens.start again.
reboot your phone into download mode again and restart odin.
your download screen might be pure black after a failed flash.
it is ok to flash like that. if the box in odin turns yellow you are good to go.

Flashing Serenity RC 6.2 - Samurai Kernel has EXT4 and Serenity supposed to have RFS

I am currently on Cognition 4.5.3 (which is Froyo) and I want to flash Serenity RC 6.2 (my first GB rom). I noticed that ddoubt said that you must be on RFS not EXT4 to do so - however, the Samurai Kernel says EXT4 on it so if I flash the kernel can I still flash Serenity?

Thanks

samerai colonel supports ext 4... And rfs, if your system is currently on lag fix ext 4 then disable it by using the cwm options menu.... Voodoo options. and if lag fix is disabled and you are on rfs don't let samurai kernel boot otherwise it will try to convert the system. also if this is your first gingerbread rom make sure you flash the gingerbread bootloaders first. just follow the instructions in the first post to flash the gingerbread bootloaders and make sure don't let samurai kernel boot into the system, go straight into c w m options

read the following on another forum and it worked for me. While holding volume up+down, insert usb cable, and then add the battery too. That does the trick and bring it back into download mode.
Hope this helps.

Thanks a ton TRusselo. Also, point to note for noobies like me. Do not EVER EVER EVER use the front USB in your desktop. That was the root cause for Odin failure. Anyway, got the phone working from a brick state so alls good. Lost my contacts, but I have a backup on Titanium backup. Now only if I could get the root perms on UKK1 :)

Awesome work by the developers. Hat tip for you all.

That only matters if the USB port is actually a USB hub. My front USB port is hard-wired to the board and it is dedicated.

uart... a resistor between 2 pins.... the jig. the jig you tried was it a bought jig or a home-made jig?if it was home-made. wrap it in tape! everything but the 2 tips of the ends. your finger touching both leads will change the total resistance as it creates a parallel path accross the surface of your skin.

" adb reboot download " - will work. turned on with debugging enabled. quick adb guide in my sig.
sending in for fixing with it modded. you do realize you voided your warranty. right?

I do realize the void ..its my neighbors phone i told him to wait till i researched this but he didn't want to listen and this is the result.i told him if he sends it in what will happen we did use a jig with 100k resistors 3x in a teardrop shape taped together when that did not work after a few hours we took apart an old charger tip and tryed connecting to that with no success either the phone will not boot just bootloops at the att screen

if I helped in any way hit that thanks button!

dude the instructions in the first post couldnt be easier or more clear.
if you cant follow those instructions. DONT FLASH YOUR PHONE
not being able to follow instructions can BRICK YOUR PHONE.

read learn and research before you screw with things that cost money.
I READ AND RESEARCHED for 3 DAYS (no work) before rooting,

Hi guys, I'm kinda new, and I have a few questions.

1) I understand that you have to reboot into recovery (cwm) after you install gingerbread kernel.tar if you decide to install a .zip file (custom rom) from SD card. But how do you get into recovery mode if the phone will reboot itself and then eventually bootlooping and making wierd sounds. Should i pull the battery and take it from there?

2) I'm currently on Froyo 2.2 stock rooted, and I'm making sure if its ok to install GB Bootloaders with no problems right?

3) And if I decide to flash stock UCKI2 Gingerbread 2.3.5 with bootloaders, do i still need to install GB Bootloaders via odin (your guide)?

Thanks guys!
