Hello how do the lyca sim thing work
Is there a app or how do I change it to uk . I live in danmark
I got all the flash ting to work but when I press subscribe to beta it says my sim is not for the system . Can you please help me

When you have flashed everything and changed your CSC to BTU you boot your device up and insert sim, let it do its thing and then you will have the Lyca app on your app drawer.
I did this yesterday and can confirm that it doesn't work anymore, we will have to wait for the second phase and do it then. The UK beta is closed for now.

after 2 days of struggle i did it without root
first, you need a UK sim or lycamobile sim.
0. remove any sim from phone
1. flashed BTU firmware
2. flashed Combination firmware COMBINATION_FA70_G955FXXU1AQE3 with HOME_CSC from BTU firmware
3. After boot, entered in factory Imei and input *#243203855#, choose BTU, wait for changes to be done
4. reflashed BTU firmware and insert your uk sim
4.5 if you have a lyca sim, go into simtoolkit and change region to uk
5. install samsung members app and log-in with you samsung account and you should see in notice Beta enrollment

How do I get simtool?

Simtool is an app that your service provider decides if you can access or not. For example, if you have Lycamobile you get access to simtool in your appdrawer

you get the notification in the app but after you hit the Register buton you get a error that the firmware doesn't match the sim or something like that

As far as I know the CSC is changing according to the country where you are.
For example, I am from Romania, I have Orange Romania as a carrier and I am currently in Germany. With roaming I am connected to Telekom.de.
So my CSC right now is not ROM, it is DBT(Germany).
On UK firmware is it possible to maintain BTU CSC even if you are in another country?

The device take info from your sim IMSI so it reads ROM and you get in Romanian "samsung members" site. so cant register from there. You need to have uk or German sim. I am able to connect from Greece with uk sim, but registration is over. Now i prepare device with DBT firmware and i have a VOD DE sim.

When you insert the RO sim you will be asked if you want to reset the phone, you can say no but I don't know if you will be asked again.
In beta firmware you don't have this problem

Hi All,

I bought a LycaMobile SIM today.
I am from Romania.

I flashed UK BTU AQH3 firmware.

Added the SIM to the phone. Went to LycaMobile services in drawer, change the country to manual and choose UK.
In Samsung Members popup 2nd Oreo Beta registration phase open and registered successfully.

Then software update received for AQI7 and installed it.
After the installation, now receiving the Beta update. Finally i might say!

A quick question, i am also from Romania and i've just signed up for the 2nd beta registration, and updating as we speak. After the update is complete and i am on oreo, is it safe to insert my romanian sim back, will i still recieve beta updates without the uk sim ?

Hi,

yes it is okay. all you will lose is the Samsung members access to beta community and beta feedback.
but the next beta's you will receive them.

After the UK BTU AQH3 flash for the beta registration is nedded to login with the samsung account ? I`m also from Romania and i have a Lyca Simcard , an now i`m writing UK BTU AQH3 firmware...please tell me if is needed to use a new samsung account or if it works with my old account? THANKS !!!!

As I understand you won't be able to use it as long as you have the wrong CSC, but when you flash back to stock everything will work as normal

Since the BTU CSC doesnt support VoLTE and VoWiFi on my Greek sim card, I reseted with my sim card inside and it went to EUR.
My main question is, am I going to get any future updates with the EUR as my CSC?
