Anyone tried this with 2 Sim cards?

In my current setup I can choose which Sim to use for each call..
I haven't tried it personally but looking over the settings it appears to support multiple SIM cards and calling accounts. Also people with the dual-SIM Note 5 have been using the same Phone app.

can you delete the stock dialer apk after u install this?
Yes, you can delete the stock dialer after installing this.

Hi is it possible to install cm dialer with truecaller integration as in Capps package

Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
I'm not sure, since this is a totally separate app. Maybe pull out the dialer APK from CM13 and try it out? I'm not using CM13 right now so I don't have it handy and I think the C-Apps package only includes the Truecaller integration. Also I'm pretty sure it requires a CM account app as well, so it might not be very convenient to set up, if it's even possible.

flashed it via recovery, and there is no new phone app installed - ?? what just happend?
Are you sure you flashed dialer_with_framework-2016-08-19-04-53-43.zip and not just the framework only? After you flash it, there should be two apps named "Phone", the new Google one and the old stock one. You can verify that it's installed by seeing if /system/priv-app/GoogleDialer/GoogleDialer.apk exists.

@fadeout, after a couple of days I can say that in my case, the app works almost perfectly. The only exception is the setting option "sound and vibration" because when I try to set it up clicking on it, it shows just for 0.5 second the settings and immediately returns to the home page so, I can't set up that option. However, the rest of the settings works right. I installed twice the app but the same results. Is it happening the same to you?

Can you upload the Cyanogen OS dialer APK so I can take a look? The C-ACan you upload the Cyanogen OS dialer APK so I can take a look? The C-Apps package only includes the Truecaller integration TruecallerCM.apk and not the dialer itself.pps package only includes the Truecaller integration TruecallerCM.apk and not the dialer itself.

The app just needs permission to access storage in order to change the ringtone. Thanks for the reminder, I just updated the instructions!

For me, I never need recovery flash.
Just install latest apk.
Then go to settings - apps - phone - permission and allow enable all permissions.
Then tick of settings icon in apps then default apps then dialer and choose phone (2nd one).
Then choose modify system settings and allow yes to phone.
You will be done.
Set default to this dialer whenever system asks you.
You can recognize by com.google naming.
.
Simple, no need to flash anything..

What ROM are you running? Must not be stock if you already have /system/framework/com.google.android.dialer.support.jar.

I was following this since my lg g4 days.
Working on any rom for me.
No root needed as my g4 was unrooted
You know Google blocked installation on non-Nexus devices starting version v2.5.12_rc9 and later, right? There's an article about it here: http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/0...er-to-block-sideloading-on-non-nexus-devices/

If you were able to install it on a non-Nexus device without root then I think you were either using an old version or a specially patched one. Have you tried installing version 4.0.129037693?

What's the birthday function? I don't think so.

Google Dialer is very similar to the stock OP3 dialer except it has the following additional settings menus:

  • Call blocking (calls from these numbers will be blocked and voicemails will be automatically deleted)
  • Caller ID & spam (show useful information when you make or receive a call, such as name for a number not in your contacts or a warning when an incoming call is suspected to be spam)
  • Nearby places (when you search from the phone app, this feature will use your location to find nearby places that match your query)

You don't need root, but you do need a custom recovery. For more information, see steps 1 and 2 of http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/oneplus-3-how-to-unlock-bootloader-t3398733. From there you just boot into recovery and "Install" the downloaded zip.
Could you explain why a custom recovery is required? I'm still on stock recovery (unrooted) and preferably don't want to change. I've gone into sideload mode in recovery and attempted to sideload your zips but I get an error:

Code:
error: protocol fault (no status)
Thanks!

That error message sounds like a driver issue or possibly an outdated version of ADB?

I haven't used the stock recovery on this device so I'm not certain a custom one is required. I just assumed it wouldn't let you flash unsigned zips, but maybe it does? I'd be curious to know if you're able to. FWIW I just used ADB to sideload it in TWRP without issue.

I thought that was the case, but I've updated to the latest version of ADB and I get the same error.

Possibly the fact that it won't sideload unsigned zips as you say... I'll try TWRP, I can always flash back to stock if necessary.

Tried this, so wanted it to work but I had some issues making it unusable.
Flashed via TWRP, dialer with framework. Enabled permissions, disabled the old phone app.

Issues:
When a call came in, the dialer wouldn't pop-up to answer the call. If playing music, it would stop but couldn't answer phone. Missed every call.

When making a call the phone/dialer pad would be missing. Couldn't dial any numbers.

Blocking phone numbers did work however.

Come to think of it. I'm not sure I selected the new Phone app default in settings. Maybe that was my issue.

Confirmed, didn't set new Phone app to default. Re flashed, everything working as should.

Installed the dialer with framework zip, opened app and there is no SIM lot select option, any solutions? I'm on Oxygen 324 freedom version.

Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using XDA-Developers mobile app
You made sure to select it as the default phone app and give it the proper app permissions, right? And there's still no SIM selection under Settings/Calling Accounts? Sounds like maybe one of the system telephony apps was removed but I'm not sure as I've only tested it on stock OxygenOS v3.2.4.

@fadedout, last version of Google Contacts app adds new functions. For example, it lets you find and delete duplicate contacts. However, Google Store says this app is not compatible with our device. Do you think it would be possible to integrate the new version of Google contact in your custom version?

I still have to look it over in more detail later but it appears to work. Do you want to try out the attached zip?
