How To Guide [GUIDE] HOW TO INSTALL GSI CUSTOM ROMS ON REDMI NOTE 10 5G/POCO M3 PRO 5G

I seem to be having some issues installing dotOS. I'm following all directions to the letter, but after I flash everything and reboot, it just drops me back into fastboot mode. I've attempted to reflash MIUI, which worked, but for some reason I can't get dotOS to boot.

For reference, I've attempted both dotOS-R-v5.2-arm64-ab-VANILLA-OFFICIAL.img.xz and dotOS-R-v5.1.3-arm64-VANILLA-OFFICIAL.img.xz, both downloaded from https://www.droidontime.com/devices/arm64

If anyone else has successfully flashed dotOS, perhaps I'm using an incorrect image, or missing something else in my install procedure?

To install a GSI (Generic System Image) custom ROM on your Redmi Note 10 5G or POCO M3 Pro 5G, follow these steps:

  1. Unlock the bootloader of your device.
  2. Install a custom recovery like TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project).
  3. Download the GSI custom ROM of your choice and transfer it to your device.
  4. Boot into recovery mode by turning off your device and then pressing and holding the volume up and power buttons simultaneously.
  5. In the custom recovery, perform a factory reset/wipe data.
  6. Flash the GSI ROM by selecting the "Install" or "Flash" option in recovery, then choose the GSI ROM file.
  7. Once the installation is complete, reboot your device.
Note: Installing custom ROMs can be risky and may void your device's warranty. Make sure to backup your data before proceeding and carefully follow instructions specific to your device model and the custom ROM you are installing.
This device does not have a properly functioning TWRP.

Tried PixelExp and PixelExp+ 13.0, ArrowOS 13.0, and CrDroid 9.2 on my camellian. All work, here are my findings.

ArrowOS 13.0 is closest to stock with minimal if any mods or UI enhancements available. Also has the best battery life of all 4 roms. Doesn't have per-app volume control.

Pixel Exp 13.0 looks and feels like a Pixel phone (launcher, wallpapers, icons, fonts, bootanimation) with no mods available. Very heavy UI. Worst battery life of the 4 roms. No per-app volume control. Slightly laggy UI compared to Arrow and CrDroid.

Pixel Exp Plus 13.0 also looks and feels like Pixel phone. Minimal mods available (statusbar, lockscreen, homescreen). Heavy UI. Slightly better battery life than PixelExp, but worse than CrDroid and Arrow. No per-app volume control.

CrDroid 9.2 looks and feels like LineageOS. Comes with a separate section for all mods and UI enhancements. More smooth UI than Pixel Exp. Better battery than Pixel Exp. More UI mods than Pixel Exp. Also has per-app volume control. Only Arrow has better battery and smoother UI, at the cost of UI mods.

TLDR:
Battery life: Arrow > CrDroid > PixelExp+ > PixelExp
Speed: Arrow > CrDroid > PixelExp+ > PixelExp
UI mods > CrDroid > PixelExp+ > PixelExp > Arrow
Base UI > PixelExp+ > PixelExp > CrDroid > Arrow
hi, I am currently using PE rom on my device but the sound randomly goes from the connected bluetooth earbuds to the phone speaker. Which of these ROMs doesn't have any bluetooth issues?

The sound with phone call is ok only when I use the stock ROM. Otherwise it is very low, when using custom ROM (Corvus Vs3.0 for the moment).
Witch custom ROM with no gapps can I use that have a good sound for phone calling ?

Nippon gsi is the largest community of ported gsi. but flash carefully. not al generic gsi are compatible with stock vendors driver. after rebbot you can have some bugs. but the stock system can be easily restored. i suggest ported gsi from redmi note 8
