Ok. I'm back! Phew...

I'm new to the Redmi brand but been doing custom ROMs since my HTC Desire. I got confused with Xaoimi and the way they have fastboot & recovery images.

I downloaded 12.0.6.0 fastboot from within MiFlash Pro and that installed. Rebooted phone and it automatically updated to 12.5. woop woop

I'm leaving well alone now for a while lol

Ok. I'm in a pickle. Tried DotOS and image was too large for system. Pixel Experience installed perfectly but keeps giving me a constant popup saying This Device isn't Google Play certified? Can't go back to MIUI as Mi Flash Pro can't detect the device....
use normal miflash. download the fastboot global firmware 12.0.6.0. put phone into fastboot. connect to pc. flash using option clean all. reboot phone. go into software update. tap 4 time miui logo. when extra options enabled, push 3 dots menù and selecr ota update downloaded from my link. enjoy miui 12.5 enanched

Does gsi booted normally no screen on off issue after lockscreen which model and region of model you have
For your question I suggest flash stock rom by using miflasher and again flash gsi I will work
i only had issue with gsi_gms_arm64 ROM. after display goes off it wont respond to anything. display stays off only turning on randomly. i think what cause this is the "RISE TO WAKE" feature. not sure but, problem only starts happening after i turn that ON in the settings.
im using Poco M3 Pro 5G, model:M2103K19PG, Global 12.0.7 RKSMIXM at the moment of flashing the GSI roms.

i already flash MIUI 12.5.2 RKSMIXM yesterday, its like usning beta version not the stable one. many bugs and a very agressive battery optimization. after a couple of seconds, it always force close background apps regardless of setting it with no battery restrictions and loked in recent apps. very annoying so im flashing GSI rom again today.

i dont have any problem with miui 12.5, for me work perfect. fast and smooth. probably when you try istalling custom gsi, made some damages. i suggest you a new clean installation and enjoy miui12.5

Nippon gsi is the largest community of ported gsi. but flash carefully. not al generic gsi are compatible with stock vendors driver. after rebbot you can have some bugs. but the stock system can be easily restored. i suggest ported gsi from redmi note 8
