Lets say I have Beans Build 2 in my STOCK ROM slot, to update it to Build 3 I would need to flash Build 3 on ROM slot 1, back it up THEN restore it to the STOCK ROM slot?

I guess I just need to be 100% sure I know what I am doing because I am also a SS noob. How do you update a ROM if it's on the STOCK ROM slot after doing this method on this thread?!?

Thanks to anyone who can help. :good:

P.S. good job on this tutorial, it's GREAT to have FULL access to your 32 GB then the small little nothing you get on ROM slots 1 though 4. :D

I should go outside...
Weird. I backed up my rom slot 1, deleted it and when I'm trying to restore it onto my stock slot, the backup folder won't even show up. I press recover on SS and theres a big black box.. I have the slot backed up to my micro sd and that is checked over up top next to storage. But it's not showing any files or anything..

Could it be because I renamed the backup folders?

So could I run a custom rom along side the stock rom without affecting the stock rom at all? I use good for enterprise so it will freak out if it detects root but if I could essentially dual boot thatd be awesome.

I remember reading somewhere that restoring a slot rom on the stock will cause your phone to brick. Is that not the case?

That's not the case, but good luck. Your not going to need it.

Thanks for the response, I just wanted to make sure I'm understanding you correctly, but doesn't the safestrap site says it will? Again not disagreeing with you, but merely wanting to make sure I understand, before I move forward.

If you read the past comments and his thread you would get the answer. On top of me already answering your question. And I'm "pretty sure," or I wouldn't post this guide.

Trouble Resotring

Hello,

First thank you for your hard work and research.

I am running SS 3.65 on Droid Bionic. I'm currently on CM11 in slot 1. When i boot into SS and try to restore the back-up into stock slot it will complete data and cache but it will fail on system even after mounting both data and system. what am i missing?

I did:

-Install Rom in Slot 1
-Set it up to my liking
-Reboot
-Back up Slot 1
-Switch to Stock Side
-Wipe Data, Dalvik, Cache, and System on Stock Slot
-Restore Back up from slot 1
-Restore Fails...

Also i know this is a Note 3 forum but i would guess that devices don't matter since this is thru safestrap... or am i wrong?
