We hope that the developers are dedicated to custom roms for the P20 lite ... and maybe even some custom kernels for better performance and battery life. I am waiting anxiously, as many people imagine.

I changed region from C158 to C342with HWOTA on the dev threads and installed this rom in the thread (136) , but got the build number 8.0.0.070B or something like that I didnt write it down at the time and decided to change back.

SIM cards not working anymore and no IMEI numbers available, apps take long to install for no reason at all too.

ANy idea how messed up I made it? Any way to have a REAL full factory reset? Dload method doesn't work with newer phones apparently..

Help? Please? :)

I managed to have it reset back to complete stock by wiping data, cache and storage, by using HuRUpdater. All problems are completely gone. Both original SIMS IMEI are back and working, Apps install again as normal speed not several minutes after download.

See below if anyone needs it. Works with any firmware on P20 Lite and several times easier than going through hwota8 in my opinion.

PS: If anyone is brave enough it would be interesting to know if this method works too with using other regions' roms.

https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/development/tool-flash-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279

- Download firmware files (for official firmware use Huawei Firmware Finder);
- Put files you want to flash in a seperate folder on sdcard;
- Supported zip files to flash are (name must match);

update.zip (use FullOTA file)
update_all_hw.zip
update_data_public.zip

- Put HuRUpdater zip in same folder.;
Optional: Put recovery.img in same folder if you want to keep custom recovery.;

- Select only HuRUpdater to flash in custom recovery.
- Follow instructions on screen. Flashing can take multiple minutes.

Data stays if you dont wipe.

My current firmware after using HWota8 is now 8.0.0.0. 46 (0ASV) and have currently one imei ok and the second with 0000000000 and i cannot find it with firmware finder. I'm coming from 8.0.0.0.120(C55)
At least is working normal.
I'm afraid to choose another firmware like C432 for Europe and to use HuRUpdater not to brick again.

Yes, most probably the sim won't work with C432 if it didn't work the first time.. and I also went through two days of worry for sims not working so I understand haha

What region location is C55?

The build you have now after HWota8 looks very, you might encounter issues in somethings maybe. I was on a mysterious build with no country region after hwota and the phone had many several issues heating up, slow, slow charging and other things.

I suggest you try to find an updated build that works with your region too and looks like it is bricked and came back, it can always come back again :) for future use HuRUpdater and not hwota as it causes several issues for some reason.

C55 is Italy and was personalized for Tim carrier.
If I will put C432 again maybe will brick again. I believe something went wrong on debranding tool of hwota8.

Ah, TIM...always a pain..

When both my IMEI disappeared and both my sims disabled I went back to hwota and I flashed a series of different builds and regions to the same conclusion, nothing fixed it but everything else worked. The only way that mine got fixed fully is by flashing a build with hurupdater through twrp. Try that to reflash C432 if you have time to play around with it, but it is not bricked as mine got back, but I had my stock rom. Your sims are not working because probably TIM (bastardi) have the sim locked to their own modem build maybe..you have nothing to lose and try again to get C432 running properly at the right build number.

BUT, my experience with HWOTA8 is this:

-Download the 3 official zip files of C432, rename them as per the instructions of HWOTA and run the repack script...(or vice versa )...as long as on the update.zip repacking you get UPDATE.APP being compressed and not giving an error.

- Copy those 3 files (renamed as per instructions) to the HWOTA folder of the external SD card and boot into fast boot.

- Then open update_eng and choose already packed, install from (external) SD!, change region, choose C432 and after it installs its TWRP it is important (that's in my case) to hold the power button to reboot then once screen goes off remove the USB cable and on the screen where it says bootloader unlocked, hold the volume up for 3 seconds until it starts TWRP, the version from HWOTA, not the one from pretoria80.

- Reconnect the USB and press enter in HWOTA until it starts the process which goes to the stock recovery updating process and you should not be getting any errors or else you know it's not done well.

- After it's done and rebooting disconnect the USB and have a look if something's better, but with HWOTA I never got the same build as per the link I downloaded so that's weird, just some funny unknown builds.

You need the stock C55 image to go back to how it was, it's quite important to get it.

Check out the hwota8 thread, im now messaging from my c782 variant rebranded to a c432 variant with dual sim working, regardless of what the second sim imei number says. I explained how I did it and what the pit falls are using hwot8. Hope you find it useful, as my version ended up 046 as well. But all fixed an better than ever.

Is there any way to flash stock rom through twrp or an easier way to go back to stock, i tried installing some sound mods and i guess it messed with the camera as it is not working anymore
If I understood correctly you flash sound MODs without did a system backup?

Do you know which partition these MODs have changed?
If yes, only that partition have to be flashed not the entire firmware.
