Hi guys, i installed both versions in the OP and neither casts to the tv like it used to... Can anyone help? I don't even get the option/icon to attempt cast.
If you're not even getting the option ot cast then the problem is most likely with your connection. I'm using the older version which supports casting and it has been working fine for the past 6 months, I've disabled my default youtube app and have been using vanced since, though it does show ads on the main homepage for some reason.Hi guys, i installed both versions in the OP and neither casts to the tv like it used to... Can anyone help? I don't even get the option/icon to attempt cast.

UPDATE: Vanced Manager appears to be working again as of November 2022, so you can now just install YouTube Vanced normally the way you would prior to its shutdown by following any guide.
Just download Vanced Manager and follow the on screen steps.
********************************************************************************************************************************
Old Guide (if Vanced Manager is not working for you):
There really isn't much to guide you on regarding this topic, as it's really simple.
First of all, we'll need to grab the correct files.
The first link is for vanced microg, this will allow you to sign into youtube vanced. You will not be able to sign in with your google account if you do not install vanced microg.
The second link is the youtube vanced apkm file, which will be installed using apkmirror's split/bundle apk installer, which is the third link.
All of these files are from APKMirror, which is a trusted source. All of these APKs are the latest versions prior to the shutdown of yt vanced.
1. Vanced MicroG.apk
2. YouTube Vanced.apkm
3. APKMirror Installer (Google Play Link)
EDIT: I've heard that the last build of YT Vanced (the one linked above) is unable to cast to chromecasts or amazon firesticks, if you are experiencing such issues with that version, then simply uninstall it and install version 15.43.32 (from six months prior) and it should cast just fine, though some features such as the shorts menu are missing as it is an older version. Here is the link for that file:
-. YT Vanced v15.43.32.apkm
Installation Instructions: (none of these steps are optional, including microG)
1. Install Vanced MicroG by clicking on it and installing it as you would install any ordinary apk.
2. Download the YouTube Vanced.apkm file.
3. Install the APKMirror Installer from the Play Store, then open it the app.
4. Click on browse files, the vanced apkm file should be there. Wait for a couple of seconds or minutes so that the files data can be loaded.
DO NOT EXIT THE APP FROM HERE ON UNTIL THE INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE
5. Click on the YouTube Vanced.apkm file, now just follow the on screen instructions to install YouTube Vanced. When prompted, click on Install by watching an Ad, also allow installation from unkown source (apkmirror app) when prompted.
6. Wait for the app to prompt you that the installation has been completed successfully.
Thats it! Enjoy YouTube Vanced despite it's shutdown, it must be noted however that after a certain period of time, this last build before shutdown will become outdated, and so you will miss out on new features and eventually it may become unsupported altogether as the YouTube app progresses ahead in updates.
Troubleshooting:
Q. The APKMirror installer gets stuck on installing and it doesn't finish.
Q. I can't open YouTube Vanced after installing it/other similar issues.
Here's the link for Youtube Vanced MusicThank you! I wiped my phone and was able to reinstall vanced via your instructions. Much appreciated. Is the Vanced music app still around too? I remember there was a separate app for that back when everything was up and running before Google squashed it.
Thank you for the guide. Installed succesfully however Vanced is asking to update and there is no way to bypass this screen. Clicking on update goes to Google Play Store with not found page:EDIT: I've heard that the last build of YT Vanced (the one linked above) is unable to cast to chromecasts or amazon firesticks, if you are experiencing such issues with that version, then simply uninstall it and install version 15.43.32 (from six months prior) and it should cast just fine, though some features such as the shorts menu are missing as it is an older version. Edit: Updating yo latest vanced does not prompt for update but then cast does not work. Can't have it all I guess.
What do you mean with authorization code from Chromecast youtube app?Casting doesn't work for me even with the new Revanced
edit: found the workaround, had to use authorization code from chromecast yt app
What do you mean with authorization code from Chromecast youtube app?
Latest version of Vanced does not ask to update. If using the old version where Chromecast casting supposedly works, that asks to update and it is impossible to use Vanced when that happens. What does OP smoke? It works just fine and it never stopped working. Just a couple of days ago I installed it on my new phone. Still running smoothly.
Latest Update: Vanced does not appear to be working anymore and requests you to update the app, which isn't possible. You will now have to stick with stock YouTube or find another alternative.
Yeah, my ass. Nice try, google.

I use the chromecast supported (old) version my my main phone and the latest version on my spare. The old version refuses to open (EOL, requires you to update). The new one opens and I can watch shorts, but I cant watch any videos, upon clicking on a video it asks me to update. This may have to do with people being in different regions and so getting updates at different times, or maybe it was just my phone. I personally have switched to revanced, since youtube vanced was showing ads on my yt homepage too. Revanced isnt the best and it also doesnt have chromecast support, but at least it works for me. Sorry if I was mistaken, hope the guide helped you though! I'll edit the main post now.Latest version of Vanced does not ask to update. So using latest version still works totally fine!
I started experiencing the same problem just a few days ago on Monday 15 May. Vanced is updated and has been running flawlessly until this week. Now I get the same message you have every time I try to watch something.Hi everyone,
I've been using this since few years, but recently finding some error popping out while I click literally any video it showing 'The following content not available on this app" I'm using latest version vanced Apps

A: This may happen on older devices or devices with less ram, I suggest closing background apps and/or maybe restarting your device and then trying again, or just try waiting again as it can take quite long if you have outdated or weaker hardware.
I suggest removing microg and installing it dead last. Not sure if it was just bugged on my mi11 or not. But it wasn't working for me however I went about it.
