Not without more information. Was your phone working correctly before you tried to flash back to stock, for instance. What were you running. What made you want to flash back to stock. etc etc

Hi,
Thanks for prompt answer.

Phone was working properly before I tried to flash. It runs CM9, version 9.1.0-i777 (stable version). I bought it from second hand and phone
already had yellow triangle and flash counter equal to 1. I wanted to clear triangle and counter. Phone continues to work properly - I succeeded
to return back to CM9 (but increased flash counter). Any ideas ?

You can return the flash counter to 0 with a USB jig, or you can use the application triangle away by chainfire, which I think you can still get for free on xda, or you can buy it on the market.

Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda app-developers app

followed directions and still won't boot

History:

Yesterday I set my phone down on the desk and then went to do some things. Came back and the Galaxy SII logo was flashing. I took the battery out put it back in and same problem. I then tried to go to recovery and could not get in. I then followed the directions that you have posted here to go back to stock and again have flashing logo. I followed step for in your guide. Looked like some things were loading and I got excited then flashing logo again. I tried to get into 3e recovery again and get a message saying deleting cyrption meta box (I think, it goes away really fast) and then back to flashing logo.

I have a SGH-I777 from AT&T and would really like to get this running again.

I am hoping my phone is not completely hosed. Please help!

Thanks!

The message is "deleting cryption meta data." When you get that, it is a sticky problem. You may be able to recover though. Try the instructions in this post and let me know if it works for you.

Thanks. I already bought USB JIG and waiting for its arrival.
As I understand, you do not have explanation regarding boot loop, correct ?

zImage kernel

So I am a bit confused in step 3 it says:

3.In order to get to a working recovery, load the SGH-I777_ClockworkMod-Recovery_5.0.2.3. You'll need to untar this file to get to the zImage kernel file*.

so I unzip it and have extracted the zImage file. How do I load this. Which slot in Odin v1.85 do put it in?

Also, is it possible to use Odin to install the Siyah Kernel?

And if I format the sd card that will delete all the data that is there correct? Is this a necessary step?

Sorry to be such a noob.

Thanks

Normally, a wipe data/factory reset from recovery will clear that. Since in your case it didn't, I would assume it has something to do with interaction with CyanogenMod. I have never used any of the CM firmwares, so I don't have any suggestions. You may be able to get some help in the one of the CM discussion threads.
