I see most of you dont know how to recover your phone using pc companion.. Alright, first you must have the latest Sony Ericsson PC companion which you can find here..

http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/sup...ads/subject/pccompanion/xperiax10?cc=gb&lc=en

1. Backup all your data and apps! (to be safe)
2. Open up PC companion and click on support zone (do not connect your phone yet)
3. Click on the Phone Software Update
4. It will says could not find phone because you havent connect it yet! so, dont connect it and click on the repair phone like this picture ---->

5.after you have click it.. it will show this.. just click continue and tick the box

6. Wait for it to prepare..

7. After it has been prepare, it will go to this section where you have to choose your phone.. so, go find your phone and select it

8. Follow the steps and procedure that is shown and you're done recovering your phone :)

connect your phone when you saw this pic.. do not connect until you see this pic.. otherwise, it will not work :)

Need tool to access my phone via PC

I have accidentally installed a theme that is probably of higher resolution than my phone screen. Now in locked mode the unlocking option/pattern/graphics is not visible as it is 'spilling out of screen'. Android debugging is on in my device (thankfully). Please suggest me a tool/method using which i can control the phone using PC(or atleast unlock the phone). I (obviously) cannot install anything on my phone, i found some such apps that need installation on phone.
Last option is to flash my phone in recovery with a ROM, but i dont want to do that if other ways possible. my phone is on MIUI ROM developed on 26/9/12

Download "Sony Update Service" and restore your Sony Xperia E dual to original firmware again.

This will remove root access ( which you can apply again later).

For more detailed information you could ask for support in the Sony Xperia E forum as they'll have more information to provide than us in the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10i forum

I've been trying this method for hours on my Z1S and it won't work. Whenever I get to the steps where I power down, plug in, and hold volume down it says usb not recognized. I can't get anything to work. I installed every sony driver from the flashtool.exe and still nothing. Now the phone won't even power on . Using Windows 7 64bit by the way.

Hi peeps, new to Android and its mysteries...

Sorry to necro this, but reading this post:

If its a sony update; that is a stock rom update. Repair will restore it to stock firmware.
By all means, I'm dumb, so to get this clear, this means that, if he repairs his phone, the original firmware that came with the phone will be installed or it will just reinstall the newest update available?

Sorry... let's say I'm a bit frustrated with something dumb I did and I want to see if I can revert back XD...

THanks in advance guys ;)

I'm quite sure that it installs the latest official Sony Ericsson firmware.

I've done it before, after softbricking my phone and it works perfectly. But after restoring you do need to unlock the bootloader again and root the phone before you can continue with installing a custom ROM.
With the flashtool provided, it is a piece of cake.
