It was in state where it was stuck on the samsung logo glowing. I wrote - After upgrading to Android 4.0 the phone is frozen on boot - Motherboard replaced without questions asked.

Guys please help me!!!! I'm new to the Note scene.

I was on ICS Stunner and had a backup of TheMidTeam1.4.2, then I decided to return on the Sammy based rom. Flashed Abyss but started the restore (damned me) before restarting the recovery; it freezed, so I restarted the phone and I was on the Abyss recovery. I restored TMT1.4.2, but when I reboot it hangs on the white "Samsung Galaxy Note" on the black background, and the yellow triangle.
What should I do now? I don't know what is ADB, I just know how to use the recovery and Odin, no more! Please help me, i'm crying!

Sorry to hear that -- I know the feeling. The instructions linked to in the OP partially worked for me (allowing me to restore custom GB ROMs), but it does require you to issue Linux commands (might be scary to some). My earlier post (here) links to Shumi93's post which links to an alternate method that exclusively uses Odin.

Hmm. You might be in too far now. Might need to send it to samsung or to mobiletec or others that have jtag to fix it. Search forums for tgis service. Its not too expensive.

However, try pulling out battery for 20 secs atleast and put back in and try download mode. If that doesnt work. Try download mode while holding vol down power and home but keep holding and plug in usb.

custom PIT method:

[/QUOTE]

The custom PIT files are very useful, especially for those who cannot handle adb things.

In fact: the best way is to combine both manual and custom PIT method. Using manual ways to diagnose which partition is faulty then choose the most suitable PIT file for that scenario (or you will know you need to do manual way if you identify there is fault block inside the internal sdcard).

I have updated the guide providing links to PIT files method threads and also partition diagnostic tools.

cheers

My note is in samsung service at this time. With the pit method you don't lose any memory ?
Yes you would lose memory. My limited understanding of the PIT file is it maps the partitions to a good area of memory leaving a chunk of your memory unuseable (hopefully, only the damaged part).

Yes, after using the patched PIT to restore my note, my note has only 8.24GB total USB storage space.

Actually I don't really mind the space, intsead I found my note (with official GB rom) reboot itself intermittently.... I am not a technical person at all but I understand that currently my note has some bad sectors inside. So can anyone tells me how can I fix it now? (of course I prefer a non-technical way to do this... Post #12 is too heavy for me ;) ....)

In addition, is it safe for me to upgrade my note to official ics now? With Odin?

Thanks in advance!

That's why i send my note to samsung service, i don't wanna lose memory. Now i'm waiting, and the first thing i wanna see is the free memory.

If you can post screen shot or copy text from the cmd window it will help to identify where things go wrong while follow the guide. Cheers.

So you are in the recovery but cannot mount sdcard to the computer?
It is not clear what you mean by mount data and mmc

yes ,
i can not mount the sd card
it sgows the error : erro mounting sd ( i formated the sd card in fat32 but nothing )
Now i can mount emmc but i can't mount data

The only error i get following your method is the error on cash partition.
