Hey ganesh, can u please gimme one standard procedure for installing a custom rom(yeah i have to s-off and unlock my bootloader as well)small corrections
after SOFF ..either the person wll have LOCKED hboot or Juopunutbear HBOOT (if he said yes to eng-hboot after soff is done) but no way it stays UNLOCKED
also after doing HTC-DEV unlock and before doing SOFF ..the person should have ROOT too (actually juopunutbear requires root access only which then can be granted via HTC-DEV unlock only)
ROOT is a per-requisite to SOFF
and to just root ..no need to have recovery (unless the guy wants to flash some custom roms) ..he/she can use my one click root tool ..link in my signature (works if the guys just have HTC-DEV unlock too)
and lastly ..there are enough guides already i think..auggie2k soff guide (which you have linked ) covers the standard SOFF process which has HTC-DEV unlock ..and my guide covers NON HTC-DEV method of SOFF
and for root ..my guide covers it and there is a old guide by VIPERX i believe covers rooting by flashing su zip, also kgs aio tool and hansoons tool covers them too
just my 2 cents here
you have 2 waysHey ganesh, can u please gimme one standard procedure for installing a custom rom(yeah i have to s-off and unlock my bootloader as well)

yes it does.does your bootloader says fastboot usb?
check if you have usb debbuging mode enabledyes it does.
in order to flash anything from bootloader you have to be on S-OFFHi guys, i have some troubles with rooting my sensation
HBOOT 1.27, 3.33 ics...i have unlocked bootloader, and did 4ext...BUT, when i go into bootloader, i get this
*** UNLOCKED ***
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT -1.27.0000
eMMC-boot
HBOOT
Parsing...[PG58DIAG.nbh]
[1] MFG_DIAG
Security fail!
Update Fail!
Press <POWER> to reboot
I have tried to S-OFF with jugen..bear, but it said it need superuser... (at one point, it managed to run, but backplate was onnever managed to run it again successfully, superuser issue )
I have copied PG58IMG.zip, but it does not load from bootloader - I still receive "security fail" error (found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21711154#post21711154)
I generally do not need S-OFF...just wanna root to install custom roms...
not from bootloaderand with this file, i should do what?
When i go into bootloader, it automatically post that "update failed"...
just that filefinally managed to go into recovery!
just that file or to first install : rmk-pyramid-stock_ics_3.32.401.3-v1.zip
I currently has 3.33 stock...
Ok, managed to do it. Now i have 4EXT icon, and SuperSU icon...just that file
the other you are mentioning is a rom.zip the stock one
you already have it
edit:where did you find rmk-pyramid-stock_ics_3.32.401.3-v1.zip ?
do you still have any firmware zip or any other file(such as nbh, diag etc) in your sdcard that can be flashed from bootloader?Ok, managed to do it. Now i have 4EXT icon, and SuperSU icon...
Interesting thing is how i managed to do it? Whenever i would power on my phone with vol- and power, it would enter into hboot, and immediately started loading something, wrote error and press power to reboot. I could not scroll down to "recovery".
When battery capacity fell below 20%, during loading process it said: "battery level too low! connect to the charger and press power to continue". ONLY THEN it returned me to hboot home screen, when i could go into recovery!
What could cause such thing? hboot is unlocked, I have installed 4ext from 3 different toolkits. Maybe some residual files on SD card? and it still does that thing, even after root.
Battery low helped me to bypass scando you still have any firmware zip or any other file(such as nbh, diag etc) in your sdcard that can be flashed from bootloader?
if yes then delete them
once your enter into bootloader it will scan every time for those kind of files
about battery capacity don't worry
if battery is low always will mention that kind of message
delete PG58DIAG.nbhBattery low helped me to bypass scan
I have these files:
sdcard.img
boot_backup.img
recovery_backup.img
jb_boot.img
boot.img
PG58DIAG.nbh
pcsc_pcsc_00001 and 2.vcf
dslv_state.txt
device.nng (this made problem, right?)
version.txt
md5s8m.txt
bysybox.zip
jb_hboot.zip
superuser.zip
Since we are already there, it is my first time of rooting something or changing system..For inspiration 1.0.1, which should i select?
1. Backup current rom before installation
2. Superwipe EXT3
3. Superwipe EXT4
4. Format system
5. Wipe data | factory reset
6. Format cache
7. Wipe dalvik cache
8. Fix permissions afterwards
9. Display md5sums before install
10. Stay inside recovery after completion
just to know somethingall done! thank you, you saved me days of effort![]()
