@dr.ketan

I flashed the T110 .zip TWRP on my SM-T111 (different than the T110, I guess) and the screen is filled with vertical lines. The screen works - recovery does function, apparently... but the lines...

Is this normal?! Can I use the recovery to flash ROMs and such?!

Hi,
I installed TWRP no probs on my t111 but it wont install the SuperSU v2.46.

I go apply update from external storage
then select supersu-v2.46

then it displays
Install /sdcard
finding update package
opening update package
verifying update package

E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed

Applying Multi CSC
applied the CSC code : ITV
successfuly applied multi-CSC

Install from SD card complete

Any idea what is going wrong?
Thanks

Sorry ignore all that rubbish I just wrote.

It is all working OK now, it was a a combination of the auto reboot and then me being a complete muppet when trying to flash TWRP with Odin.

Thanks a lot!!!!! :D

Now I'm stuck in the bootloop, after I rooted it OK, I used Titanium Backup to try and remove Dropbox using "Force remove app (by recovery exploit)" that said it was going to reboot the device twice, it booted into TWRP and that is all its done since.
Ive tried wiping the cache & dalvik cache and also the data partition (after backing it up) but no help.

I've reflash TWRP with Odin but still the same bootloop

Have I totally bricked it?

Shouldn't bricked but you need to Reflash rom. Either flash stock ROM and re do flashing recovery. Or straightway copy custom rom to ext SD and flash straightway.

Sent from my SM-N920I using xda premium

I found this website with the stock ROMs on - http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SM-T111 and I also see you've created a custom ROM so I'm going to have a look at that as well, I'm sure its gonna be good as you seem to really know your stuff!!!!! :D:D

---------- Post added at 10:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:18 PM ----------

I have downloaded your custom ROM and it said it installed successfully but it still boots into TWRP.

I'm still waiting on the stock ROMs to download as they are coming from some annoyingly slow download sites.

SHould I try flashing the Stock recovery you uploaded in this post? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51712177&postcount=3

I have a feeling somehting similar happened on my Galaxy S2 with Titanium Backup, but I cant remember how I fixed it now as it was years ago

Once again thanks for your help

I can not find the procedure of my Samsung Galaxy Tab3 7.0 lite (SM- T116)[/QUOTE]

I can't find it either! My tablet is the Samsung Galaxy Tab E (SM-T116BU too, funny), bought in Brazil (Android 4.4.4; Baseband T116BUUBU0AOH1; Kernel 3.10.17-831418; Build KTU84P.T116BUUBU0AOJ1). It seems they sold the same "T116BU" Model with several names all over the place, are they supposed to be the same?

I'd like to root my device, but not install another ROM (I didn't find that either). Tried several methods, both in the Phone and using Root Genius, no success...

Root Genius Screen (I enabled USB debugging etc):
Your phone is too solid...: http: i.imgur.com/Aszcs2e.png

Kies 3 - Phone Information: http: i.imgur.com/Y25oRUu.png

Any help is very much appreciated! Thanks!! (could not attach images, I hope you can use the "links" above)

I know it has been a long time since this thread was created... but since it's still "alive" I'll post my doubt. :D

I have a SM-T111M and I couldn't find any info about that particular model. It's always the T111 or the T210.

So... my question is: any procedure for the T111 will work on the T111M? Rooting, ROMS etc.

Thanks in advance.

=)

Just couple of days back I have made Prerooted Dr.Ketan custom ROM and many user asking about how to root SM-T111 so here describing simple method about how to root SM-T111.

1.Download tar version of SM-T110 TWRP which is working fine on T111. Here is original thread and you have to download This one. (select tar version NOT flashablbe zip). Thank to @gr8nole
2.Extract that recovery to get recovery.tar.md5
3.Flash this extracted file with Odin (PDA/AP tab)
4.Download SuperSU.zip and here is original thread of SuperSu by chainfire if you needs further info about SuperSU
5.Copy downloaded SuperSu file to Sd card
    6.Reboot to recovery (Vol up+power+home)
    7.select SuperSu zip and flash
    Done !
    3
    Switch of device
    Press power +volume up +home
Once you see Samsung text logo on screen release power and keep holding other 2 button.
    It will boot to recovery.
For download mode same way but use volume down in place of volume up.

Your recovery is not updated and still stock.
Open odin and uncheck Auto reboot. Flash recovery again and when flash Complete, manually reboot device to recovery and you will have custom recovery
