I think the real question is once the bootloader is unlocked and system rooted, will unrooting and re-locking the bootloader be detected by motorola when sending it in for the 4glte upgrade???
Just encrypt your device and pin lock it. This is the one aspect of the 4g upgrade I'm not comfortable with. Handing over a device to strangers with all my private and professional data makes me uneasy. Sorry, this rant is for another thread.

most likely yes but i dont see why they wouldnt upgrade to lte when you return to stock. I believe it just voids your warranty, not your ability to upgrade

I got this working just now... There are some missing /'s that will cause it to fail and a few steps that are better done from an adb shell... I'll edit them in...

1. Download the Motorola Xoom Root Zip file and unzip it. Download
2. Place the files in the SDK Tools folder.
3. adb reboot bootloader (You can skip the next 3 steps if you’ve unlocked with fastboot previously)
5. fastboot oem unlock (wait for reboot)
6. adb reboot bootloader
7. fastboot flash boot rootboot.img
7. fastboot reboot (wait for reboot)
8. adb remount
9. adb push su /system/bin/
10. adb shell (everything from here is within the shell, up to the exit)
11. ln –s /system/bin/su /system/xbin/su
12. chmod 4755 /system/bin/su
13. exit
14. adb push Superuser.apk /system/app/

This worked flawlessly for me.

Is everything working as it should after doing this (WIfi, BT, 3G, HDMI etc..)?

Just making sure as there is no original boot.img to revert back to.

Someone needs to pull the original boot.bin before doing this so we will have the original because when the OTA comes and fails (due to the insecured boot) we will all be looking for that file to flash it back to get the OTA.

I knew this thing would be rooted on the first day. lol.

I probably won't root mine until there are some useful hacks and custom roms/kernels out. I'm looking forward to the awesomeness that is to come from XDA in the next month. :)

Don't see this happening until the sdcard works.
