adb shell
[email protected]:/ # shutdown -k wait
When you are on stock without the patch or full rooting there are no checks in place. With the right commands, or wrong ones, you can do some nasty thingsHi guys, I use the SPFT to flash back to 20140120 stock, and things was working fine. I was playing around with ADB and accidentally entered
WARING DO NOT EVER DO THIS ON YOUR OMATE
to try to shutdown device via ADB instead of using reboot -P (really stupid and noob mistake on my part)Code:adb shell [email protected]:/ # shutdown -k wait
Now my device seem to be brick. I try SPFT to attempt to flash back to 20140120 again. But SPFT refused to start the download process. I read online that I should try a battery pull to reset the device. But the screws on my Omate are so tight, I has not been able to remove them (already stripped 2 screws in attempt to do so). Any other suggestion how I can get myself out of this mess?
Other symptoms:
1) Also I try ADB command via USB, the device is registering but telling me error: device offline
2) Also when I try to plug the device into the computer via USB, the normal battery charging graphics are not showing, just a completely black screen.
Is my device truly BRICKED?
I did use motochopper to get root. Does that make a difference? When you are on stock without the patch or full rooting there are no checks in place. With the right commands, or wrong ones, you can do some nasty things
You are going to need to pull the battery or wait until the battery dies.
shouldn't. the shutdown command doesn't require an su, which in some cases I think it should. Your options at this point are still the same though.I did use motochopper to get root. Does that make a difference?
Well since the watch is fully charged when I was entering the ADB command, and that 2 of the screws on the backplate is already stripped in attempt to remove them. I think it is fairly safe to say that I have the unfortunate distinction of being the first BRICKED OMATE watch owner.shouldn't. the shutdown command doesn't require an su, which in some cases I think it should. It's NOT bricked. Bricked means that there is no way to get the device to boot. Soft Brick means it requires you flash back to factory firmware.Well since the watch is fully charged when I was entering the ADB command, and that 2 of the screws on the backplate is already stripped in attempt to remove them. I guess it is a price I have to pay being an android developer/tinker (although a novice one). But it still hurts![]()
I understand that there technically a way out, if I can get the backplate off to do a battery pull. But in my case I don't think it is possible at this point. Also i am concern that other people might have the same problem with the backplate screws as me, and they might run into the same brick problem (if they are not careful). It's NOT bricked. Sorry just little bit depressed after the tragic (self inflected) event with my Omate Watch.
Like I said. there are two options.
1- Pull battery
2- Wait for battery to die
Option 2 does not require that the back be removed at all.
Overnight, a day maybe two max.Hmm I made an assumption that since my battery was fully charged before my stupid action. That to let the battery naturally die would take months/year. But Lokifish, sounds like you implying that my assumption is mistaken. Does the Omate really draw that much power when the watch is off?
In your opinion, how long it would take for the Omate to go from full to completely drain with powered off?
Thank you for your help.
I did download it from all tools thread and still unable to install the right driver. The problem is when I plug the watch to my computer when its off, its not being recognized by my computerDownload the drivers from the all tools thread. It has drivers that came from Omate.

That is awesome news Lokifish, I will give it 2 days, hopefully things will solve themselves. Thx again for your help.Overnight, a day maybe two max.

Video guide on it way.I have an Omate 1/8 developers version, US version, which I successfully had flashed to Imperium.
I am trying to flash it back to stock, following these instructions.
I get it as far as loading the correct scatter text, and everything looks as it should. I power off the watch and click it into the case. At this point it first briefly shows me the battery as if at very low charge, then it shows me the battery at 100% charge! but the yellow line on the computer never starts! The flashing doesn't start.
In case this is relevant, I have a windows 7 32 bit computer. It had windows XP when I bought it, but I later installed 7. If I click properties, it says it is a windows 7 32 bit. But when i try on step 7 to install drivers, it keeps installing XP drivers. Will this matter?
1) Try right click on the installer and uncheck compatibility mode to windows XP, that should allow you to install the window 7 driver.I have an Omate 1/8 developers version, US version, which I successfully had flashed to Imperium.

Your method worked, and now I have the windows 7 32 bit driver installed.1) Try right click on the installer and uncheck compatibility mode to windows XP, that should allow you to install the window 7 driver.
2) Also I had to manually click the download button on SPFT before plugging in the watch, then the flash process will start. See if that works for you.
