It's very possible. I just did it. Just follow the guide. Where are you stuck on?I have read and reread all the postings about unlocking the bootloader and I am more confused than when I started. I am not a novice at unlocking the bootloader on phones, but I am surely not a pro and don't want to end up with a $400 paper weight. I am using the A2017U-B27 and would like to end up with a unlocked bootloader and rooted phone. Is it possiable? Where do I start?
Thanks in advance.
Press cancel when you on pass screen. then go wipe and press format data which on bottom right side.Where exactly do I put this file:
TWRP_UnlockBootloader_by_DrakenFX.zip?
I put it in the base storage for the phone, but when I try to flash it with TWRP, I can't actually see the file anywhere.
Also, every time I go into TWRP, it asks for a "decrypt" password. Another user was also having this issue, and he was told to wipe internal storage and data. I did this, but the same issue persists.
I have the US model.
I just did this. Same issue happens. Asks for decrypt password.Press cancel when you on pass screen. then go wipe and press format data which on bottom right side.
It depends on what you did wrong and where.can someone help me out? i was unlocking my phone. i wasnt concentrating and i mixed up 2 diff steps. so basically i have twrp but my bootloader is locked so i cant boot in to cyanogen which i installed............ any help?
i got back system img but i cant execute fastboot oem unlock and i have the us versionIt depends on what you did wrong and where.
Did you set "OEM unlock"? Did you flash the fastboot image? What model do you have? I guess the sure thing would be to use TWRP to flash back to stock using system.img and start over
The step #6 is to backup your current fastboot image. first command creates the fbob file on your sdcard. Second command pulls it from the phone to your computer. Neither is a requisite to unlock but just a backup of current fastboot which gets flashed with new one in next stepi got back system img but i cant execute fastboot oem unlock and i have the us version

fastboot is just not recognizing my device
You can do what I did. Go to device manager. Update driver. Then browse for ur preferred. I m sure there should be a different version. An older version of the same driver.Fastboot is not recognizing my device either.
