Issue from the start- fastboot

Hey folks, so ive been having an issue with my fastboot, ive used multiple usb cords, and ensured usb debugging was on ( i also factory reset) but on my fastboot it shows battery ok (Charging) but still shows connect usb data cable. i cannot get my device to show up on minimal abd fastboot with fastboot devices. My computer shows the device as connected, i am able to take data off the phone (Copy pictures ect) but not able to send commands. I did see a post somewhere that laptops can be the culprit sometimes? I was going to test out my tower later and see if i have any luck. The reason for booting is to install a globalizer for BDM, and im doing this on my old xt1254 because my current phone xt1650 us not rootable. Any help would be appreciated!

Check device manager while the phone is connected and in fastboot/bootloader mode. If you see any exclamation points, you'll need to install drivers.

Sounds like you don't have the phone in downloader mode. Try adb reboot bootloader command in cmdhere.exe. then fastboot devices when phone in downloader mode

using CMD adb isnt a recognized command, same with minimal ABD, but fastboot devices is? Sorry, im pretty tech savy but very new to rooting, this is the one hump i cant get over. I may try to do this with my tower and see if i have any better luck.

I created a thread with some basic information on
Setting up and Using adb.exe and fastboit.exe https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/index-links-setting-using-adb-fastboot-t3495167

The only command mentioned is: adb reboot bootloader...

STRONG SUGGESTION: After successfully unlocking bootloader, installing TWRP and rooting, when you finally boot back to stock firmware, install THIS app (needs root permission) to easily facilitate rebooting to TWRP recovery in the future. Recovery Reboot

While all the non-stock custom ROMs have reboot to (custom) recovery options in the the power menu, stock firmware does not. This is a great app to have to easily reboot to TWRP on a rooted phone. Put a shortcut on your phone "desktop".

I have this phone for a couple of years and so far I have to change ROM but I have stopped the question of whether it is still necessary to pay the $ 25? Can someone help me with this doubt?

I know it is a cold case but I need a solution. I recently bought a new motorola droid turbo(xt 1254) on MCG24.251-5-5 firmware. While trying to unlock bootloader, I use auto#initroot for temporary root. It is okay. Then while the phone is connected to pc I try to open Sunshine but it frozes and become unresponsive.
At that point should I disconnect the phone to use Sunshine or is there any other problem. Please can you tell me the solution. Thanks
