I know it's a bit offtopic, but I didn't find a better place to post it.

So, I'm looking for a new rom for my sisters and mothers Y300-0100. Right now they´re using the old stock firmware, which is pretty laggy and open for exploits like stagefright.

I visited the modaco forum reading a lot of threads , but am still a bit overwhelmed by the mass of different roms and don't know which to choose.

The rom should be as stable and smoth as possible. Features don't matter that much, the focus should be that the phone is "working" properly on daily basis. Looking to those priorities a AOSP-based rom seem to fit best. In theory I´d prefer a LP/MM-rom, but maybe the old KK one`s are just more stable? Is there a rom you could recommend me?

I´d really appreciate if any of you could give me some tips or hints!

I will be clear.
All roms other than 4.1.1 are full of bugs and they are not stable.
This phone was meant to come with 4.1.1 and die with it.
So, I'm suggesting you AospMod 4.1.1, it is stable, fast and lightweight.
You should try it.

Thanks a lot for your fast reply. It's sad that Huawei devices often lack good custom rom support..
Do you know if the performance will be noticeable better compared to the stock rom? If not, I think I'd just let the phones like they are..

I'm trying to follow this guide to unlock my mobile but when I sent the email for request the unlock code to unlock the bootloader, they replied me that they can't write the code.

Can anyone help me please??

Compared to stock, speed is noticeable.
Altough, you cant expect low end phone to run like flagships.

I used it for about a year until my my sister got it, so I'm well aware of the performance limits.. Back there I was using cm, but, like you said, never without bugs.

This thread is meant for unlocking the bootloader.
About the sim, I think your carrier should unlock your phone's sim for free 12 months after buying it.

It's for a friend of mine. He called the carrier but, strangely, they said they wouldn't, even after the locking period (for a decrease in price) has finished...

I think it's not possible.
Simply because carrier needs to give you that unlocking code.
I hope I'm correct lol. :good:

Been using it while I had the phone, it was running really great, so overall, you can't go better than this.

Hi, the unlock URL (https://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin.php?id=unlock&mod=detail#_=_) doesn't work, after I login it just stays at the download page for EMUI. Even when I click Unlock Bootloader then login again, it goes back to Download page.
