hi guys, I'm a bit noon with Huawei devices so I'm sorry in advance. I currently have a P10 locked to Vodafone (C02) I have my bootloader unlocked and twrp installed. for me to rebrand I just need to download a FOTA (all 3 files) from C432 and flash them in order in twrp right?

Just wandering is unlocking bootloader in order to rebrand phone does not disable some of the functions of a phone. I know when unlocking Sony phones could break camera capabilities.
I noticed significant drop in battery life after rebranding from stock original VTR-L09GBRC to VTR-L29432. Before I was able to last a day and a half with no charging. Now I need to use charger every night.
My original firmware was on version 152 this one is 180. I like to have latest security patches from Google, but I guess it comes with poorer battery life.

Maybe unlocking bootloader switch "machine learning" off.

Does anyone had same experience?

From point of view, there are no disavantages. Quite contrary, you gain the option to use a second sim, get updates more often and don´t have the bloatware from your carrier.
Battery stays the same. If you have poor battery life, make sure that it isn´t an app floating in the background and using up your battery

REBRAND VTR-AL00 to VTR-L29

I could rebrand my VTR-AL00 to VTR-L29

These are the steps that I follow:

NOTES:
- I recommend you to use Windows 10. It doesn´t produce any bug.
-Follow the Step 1 from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10...guide-t3691013

1) Download the update package from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/mat...ckage-t3593108 (Direct uncompress Base, OS, and P10 zips without file name as directory.)

2) It´s important to have this version of TWRP --> twrp-3.1.1-0-vtr.img . Once you have rename it to twrp-3.1.0-0-vtr.img and put it in HWOTA\recovery\VTR (replace the version that is in there)

3) Then change hwota.sh as zhjc1124 says here https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10...ooted-t3659636

4) Now run the script. It´s important to select the update folder source because if you don´t, it doesn´t works.
So put your 3 updates files (update, hw and public) in HWOTA\update

5) If at the final of the script your phone enters in recovery mode those are good news! Now you have to run the script again but this time select update instead of rebrand

6) In case your firmware would rebranded in a different version like "Onyx D188", DON´T PANIC, it happens sometimes. To solve this problem just download another
update files and change them with the old ones (remember: HWOTA\update). So now run the script again and select rebrand (In case you need run the script again in update mode) and that is all.

Anyone has an idea if it is safe to install this firmware using Firmware Finder.

I am currently on VTR-L29C636B172. It's the latest approved for installation from firmware finder.

Then I tried checking on Firmware Finder the VTR-L29C432B185 FULLOTA-MF 2018.0.1.17. It says that it is approved for installation (with IMEI).

I was wondering if it is perfectly fine to install the firmware, given that my phone comes with the C636 firmware, and the one I am to install is C432?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I do like to apologize if I may sound noob. Since I've been out of the Android Ecosystem for quite a while now.

No, it is not safe to install as C636 means Global region and C432 - Europe. You have to re-brand it first, following the instructions from this thread, or wait until C636 firmware is approved for your device.

Any way to rebrand vodafone L09 to L09C432? L29C432 is f*** ****, the last google security update is december...
Depends, if yo want working sim, no and if you not then no :)
I can´t complain about the update policy from huawei, in comparison to other brands there are very fast with updates.
Keep in mind that they are working on the oreo-update for the p10 and so they might less updates for nougat. Also keep in mind, that you can´t compare the version from device to device.
For instance ab B179 for the l29 might never than a B180 for the l09.

Hello, I rebranded my VTR-L09 to VTR-L29. It wasn't branded to any carrier, I only wanted the dual sim option. Now when I check in firmware finder the check firmware access it says it is not approved, any idea why?

Hello, thank you for this guide; I'm stuck at step 2 because I have to choose between B179 and B180, and I'm not really sure which one to pick. My model is a Vodafone branded VTR-L09C02B161 (it's the last update on Ffinder). Which variant should i get?
Thank you!!

Because B179 is the last verified one for the device. wait for the new Oreo-Update in March. You should get it via Systemupdate. No need to use FF, only i you can´t wait, cause as others manufactures Huawei rolls their updates out in waves.

Thank you. One more question: when i try to backup OEMinfo and other folders to internal storage, i get "permission denied" error. I've read this is because the internal storage is encrypted. Do i need an external SDcard or there's some way to bypass the encryption?
