Installed an Oreo with HWOTA and after bricking my device and spending whole night devoted to fixing the issue I managed to get to play with android 8 and it was worth the time and the nerves. Now what it's left for me to do is relocking the phone with stock recovery installation, I guess I will succeed in this effort as well all thanks to You guys from XDA.
Why did it brick
How did you fix

Why did it brick
How did you fix
It was bricked due to the fact that I didn't have micro sd so I was going on to solution to push the oreo to phone via pc and cable witch at one point got stuck. Then I tried to do it with usb via otg cable in recovery but it wasn't recognized and before I even plugged in the usb I deleted everything except cust in recovery and was left with nothing in device (how stupid of me). And, I was prepared to leave it to the service but before that I decided to give HWOTA one more chance also via pc and it worked :) I was more than happy setting up the device when up until the end of having my phone the way I want it to be I remembered that I didn't relocked the bootloader so went to do that and by so phone started lowlevel factory reset :( aaawh, cannot believe that, I have to set up phone again, it was frustrating but it was worth it... Basically all my fault, more or less, try not to make my mistakes and You are golden, plus You got Oreo :)

Hi,

i've tried to debrand a german vodafone P10 and choose a wrong oem info for my L09. After debrand i get the error only emergency calls, no sim detected, no service.

In case of NO Service or NO SIM detected, can be solved with TRWP (re)Backup of OEM Info to SD card. :

1. boot into TRWP
2. Backup to OEM Info to SD card
3. put SD card to PC
4. Download right one from here (in my case L29 instead of L09)
5. unzip, exchange and rename *.bin with backuped one
6. recover OEM Info
7. make wipe/dalvik cache
8. reboot

may someone has the same issue and don't want to become crazy :D

There actually 2 erecoverys on the device. Try other methods to boot to recovery first, see main post at the bottom.
If it doesn´t help you can flash the the recoverys via adb. you can extract the recoverys from the update.zip with this tool: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454
Only use if you know what are you doing.

I would highly recommend just running hwota again, to ensure you have the firmware correctly installed. If you device boots and you modelnummer ist correct, just relock you bootloader and you will be back on stock recovery. To be complete just switch "OEM-Unlock" off in deveolper settings after that.
If you are not rebranding to l29 you should use other updates files in the hwota\update folder. But unfortnuately there are no Full_OTA files for the l09 available yet. At least on firmwarefinder: http://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/?firmware_model=vtr-l09c432&firmware_page=0

So you have the choices:
1. Wait for Full-OTA files for the l09 and replace the files in the updatefolder (make sure to rename them) or flash the 3 update files in correct order under TWRP
2. Use hwota and rebrand to l29
3. Replace the recovery with the ones from update.zip. Be warned you can mess up your device even more. So be really sure about what you´re doing.

If i had to it, i would use method 2.

I tried updating to Oreo on a VTR-L29C432B180 (downloading the 3 files for Oreo from the russian website cause mega won't allow me, renaming them, using the update.bat with unlocked bootloader and all the steps) and ended up in eRecovery. Then I could restart the phone and it booted up, but it was the same version (B180).
So still Nougat for me.

I used Same Brand Update. Should I use rebrand instead?

So I don't know if I undertstood well.
If I want to force update to Oreo, and I'm currently on B180 rebdrand europe, do I have to RELOCK my bootloeader and unlock it again in order to update to Oreo? Why?

Cause you want the update before it has been officially signed by huawei, maybe? You tell me.
You can use the dload method instead, should maybe work, too.
You relock to during the hwota method and after the update you can/must relock the bootloader. Depends, if you want official updates over OTA, or you want to update manually.

If you are have a L29, no rebrand should be necessary. As i mentioned in the post, it´s depending on a lot of factors. If you used the update from the hwota over usb, maybe try placing them on your sdcard, or use the dload method.

So relock the bootloader is something optional?

Thank you for the answer, but the phone is ****ed up, some where in the process the partitions from erecovery got fu..k up ( i dont know if thats even posible). it all started when i tried to install the oreo update it went well it finsihed installing but then it wouldnt boot then i installed the twrp for oreo i guess thats where i broke it, it went into twrp serveral times tried to install the rom again from twrp but it didnt work, and then it got stuck with this error mode screen.( error 11 no recovery image-error 2 failed to load, it goes to fastboot and it still says phone is unlock and frp unlock, using the hwota doesnt work since it flashes the twro recovery but it gives a error stating that the length of the partition error mess. now even if i tried to fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk ...img it flashes the img but i doesnt go to recovery it goes directy to error mode is the same messages as before, tried to flash all the partitions one by one they flash but still it wont start, i dont know if its possible that the erecovery is f up some how but thats the only image not possbile to flash from fastboot. i mean im pretty sure it in deep waters now, i tried several methods and they dont work. basically im stuck between fastboot and error mode with 0 possibilty to get into erecovery mode. anyways if someone knows about this issues let me know. thanks

Since there is no official twrp support for oreo yet and you are probably flashed the oreo firmware, i advice you reading this guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10/how-to/android-oreo-updates-rollback-guide-t3733723

You can also try the dload with nougat service rom in force update mode, because you can´t access it via servicecode: https://translate.google.com/transl...re-huawei-p10-a-postup-instalacie-do-telefonu

So was able to recover the phone and update to oreo at the same time, took me the whole night but finally found a way. I tried trough twrp oreo and nothing seem to work dload way wasn't working. Still had the issue after trying all the methods possible. Since I was in oreo firmware I was able to boot to twrp even so it was hard to do so flashing the zip from twrp wasn't working and I would end up on the se screen tried to flash the hwota8 update zip and also it did work. Finally I decide to extract the img from the oreo update zip and flash the original recovery_ramdisk kernel, and ram disk through fastboot i relocked the bootloader turn on rescue mode using hisuite, unlocked the bootloader and flashed the mha_recovery_nocheck. Img reboot the devices and force update mode with volumen up and down i went to erecovery and flashed the ROM! I did have the update zips on my SD card in hwota8 folder. Happy camper, oreo rocksThanks for the support! IMG_20180303_174106.jpg

Help needed

Hey,
I have rebranded successfully my VTR-L09C654 to VTR-L29C432, installed b185 via FF after imei check.
Recently, I received a new uptate popup (OTA) : Victoria-L29C432B180... When I tried to install it the phone felt in eRecovery on restart... Received the same update 2 more times afterward...
I thought I might have a soft issue so I tried to hard reset my phone, but when I go to settings to initiate hard reset, I still get to eRecovery and do not get the option to hard reset...
I have tried to reflash VTR-L29C432B185 in TWRP but got an error (do not remember which one though)... My phone is now unlocked, but I hesitate to relock the bootloader...
Does somebody had the same issue?
I'm quite noob to all this stuff... All I want is to hard reset my phone to start fresh. Any help will be appreciated!

Are you really sure, you rebrand correctly? what version does it show in settings-about? VTR-L29C432 or NRD90M.TEST.KEYS
When you see NRD90M.TEST.KEYS, did you do the hwota method twice? in order to rebrand correctly you have to do it twice. Otherwise your device will be branded to this nirvanaversion :cyclops:

So finally got tired if seeing that build number system 8.0.0.046 so decide to try to roll back to nougat, did through proxy with firmware finder it downloaded the latest official roll back firmware, i didnt have twrp install had the vtr recovery no check img. It roll back very quick after that i followed this guide with files was able to upgrade and rebrand with hwota very quick in just one try super smooth. Happy camper. I couldnt do it before because that script uses the old twrp files to work so I had to downgrade the phone back to nougat to make it work and from there upgrade again. IMG_20180304_034728.jpg
