I followed this guide and installed the latest stable cm 10.2.1 and everything seems to be working for the most part. What version of gapps do I need for 10.2.1?
Thanks! Thats what I ended up installing. The only issues ive had so far is that I noticed CM is a little laggy on the nook color. Anything I can do to speed it up?
What version of CM are you trying to install? And the first time it boots it takes a long time with that spinning wheel to finish. Did you let it go for a while?I followed the directions, and after wiping out the SD card, reinserting and rebooting the Nook, it's just hanging, showing a screen with "CyanogenMod" surrounded by a circle (with some graphics going on in the circle, like a spinning wheel).
Any suggestions? I realize I'm a little late to the party, but I have an old Nook that I'd like to convert to a pure android tablet for my 7 year old.
Thanks.

There is a better rom, CM10.1.3 stable. Click on the stable button on the cm site.I'm installing cm-10.1..3-RC2-encore. I initially only found cm-11-20150705-NIGHTLY-encore, but that failed to unzip onto the Nook. Searching around I found a the CM10 I'm using. A big problem I'm facing is encountering dead links on any pages with instructions.
I let it go for about an hour, and figured it was caught in some kind of loop. When you say it takes a long time, are you saying hours? If so, can I just turn it on again and let it run, or do i need to reinstall again?
Thanks.
It reset itself to stock because your cm failed to boot 8 times in a row. It has a failsafe mechanism to do that.Hmm. I have rooted this Nook before and had CM10 working on it -- loved it -- but then it mysteriously reverted to its factory condition and OS, one day. I'm trying to get it back to CM10 but after following the guide using both images (from the first step) my Nook just boots normally and nothing appears to have happened besides the Nook writing a few new folders onto the SD card. What did I do wrong?
Obviously is because the sd is not made perfectly to its liking. That is why I steered you to my tips thread to read about that.Ok, I'll definitely do that, but do you have any idea why the OP method isn't taking for me, now?

And no, not hours, 10 or 20 minutes. Start over.

- Download 1gb TWRP image from here OR 1gb CWM 3.2.0.1 sdcard image from here. MD5 of .zip: 1319739d33642ed860e8044c3d55aa56. (I made this based on work in this thread. credit: to cmstlist and DizzyDen, and kevank for hosting). You really only need the 1gb image for this guide, no matter what the size of your card is. A smaller image will burn faster, and when you're done with the guide you can reformat the card anyway.
I installed cm7 per the instructions in the first post. It went really well.
Now, I would like to root. If I have implemented the steps in this guide, what is the best approach to rooting without bricking my blue dot nook? Just follow the instructions for manualnooter or something else?
Done this at once. Great description, works smooth and nice. But... I can't get root. May be it's stupid, but all apps, requiring root are not working. 'su' in Terminal tells me 'permission denied'.
This is my first time CyanogenMod try, I used Froyo before. Did I do smth wrong?
Ooops, there is another happy user just 2 seconds ahead of me
First thanks everyone for putting this dummies guide. It's SUPER easy to follow.
I has Phiremod 6.1 previously. It used to work well, with not so great battery obviously.
Recently hopped on to the Cm7 nightly bandwagon. Wiped everything for a clean install. Formatted system, data, cache, Dalvic Cache.
Then installed Nightly 107 + 6/13 Gapps. Did NOT flash overclock kernel, since I don't want to overclock the nook.
I have the CPU at 925 MAX and 300 min.
Everything is SUPER except Youtube video playback. Almost all videos are choppy with frames slower than normal. (running youtube desktop site on miren browser).
I've tried EVERYTHING. Fixed permissions twice using ROM manager. Uninstalled, and reinstalled - browser, flash etc.
Then I went back to Nightly 102. No luck!
Can anyone please help? Is the choppy youtube video playback a known issue in CM7?
This NEVER happened to me in Phiremod 6.1, because I used to watch tons of tennis highlights on youtube and the playback was smooth..
Can I flash something else and make this problem go away?
Thanks in advance.
