It's not the problem of adb tool.. Something weird is going on which should not happen as I pretty much prevented that in the script

Sorry I couldn't help you as I was away from my pc most of today and from mobile the support is limited

Anyways it seems you did htcdev unlock
.. So just follow the auggie2k guide to soff you will come out fine

If Hboot is 1.2x (ICS), then, currently this is the only method.

is my unit ok to S-OFF? What procedure will i use?

Silly questions why when i use temproot screen divice is black with only the info bar working,
there will be more interesting if everything work so we can use it to do ather things and not need to be permanent root,

the guide will work for 1.29 bootloader too
just follow the guide on how to do that (also make sure you met the prerequisites mentioned)

Are you using the correct juopunutbear?
There is a version for use with HTCdev and one for without.
I remember the file name was something like juoounutbear_without_htcdev
