Install supersu from market.. Then change the super user permissions to it... It can be done from settings of the app.. Also it has temp root remove option... iirc

Thanks. Juonpunutbear installed super user which I don't think can be uninstalled - I presume I can use supersu with it ? I'll give it a try and see.
I managed to uninstall superuser from my old HTC legend. Install supersu from play, ensure you gain superuser permission by it, update binary, delete superuser.apk from /system/app by using root explorer, reboot your device. I don't know if it worked with the sensation though. Some expert could double check this.

Hello XDA friends. Just got my cell back from HTC and I tried mm many times to unlock using htcdev. I noticed my token id keeps changing. Is this normal and the reason y I can't unlock? Help !!!

well apparently the HTC phones that got their motherboard replaced cant do HTC-DEV unlock ..but you can SOFF without HTC-DEV ..and this guide explains that procedure
Thanks for the guide, the wire trick was a bit of pain but patience will help you get there. I suppose this rooting method is permanent? So it stays rooted even if you reboot?
If you did root using the one click root rool after soff guide.. Then it's permanent

Had a go last night ,took about 3 hours
The first bit to make your phone S-OFF went quite easy even the paper clip mod was done on first attempt !!!
The only problem was when you got to 1 click root tool because i couldn't download the file root-sensation.zip the file you told me to download was KGS SUPER UTILITY,
anyway i couldn't find the fileroot.bat) file only Root device.bat) ,when i double pressed this file the phone turned off and then turned on with a red triangle .so i tried the file Root device new.bat) this worked a treat.
thanks for all the hard work that you all have done. i hope the way i did it might help somebody else .i now have sensation xe with beats with root excess.
