Hi,

Is there anything else that you have not mentioned?

Look HERE
Flash the Universal 3.33 firmware.
Check google for md5 checksum and checker.

Then, wipe your phone and install a ROM

Hi,

What that shows is a 1.29 hboot, and a GB radio.

Flash the 3.33 Universal firmware ,and you will see a 11.24A radio
You will then, be able to flash ICS or JB ROMS.

:)

Hi just to report that it worked for me after sending back my sensation because of dust problems, it took me ~1h30 to do that **** trick.
Thanks a lot for that guide.

Have tried like five times to S-OFF using the wire trick. Gave up, DEV unlocked and rooted and installed a custom ROM and seems fine now. What do you really need S-OFF for? I'm concerned I'll break my phone if I keep doing this. I've already trashed one SD card for some reason. It just won't come up any more (other cards seem fine). I hope this has not screwed my SD card slot.

Five tomes only?
Lot of people tried it at least like some 20-30 times. And yes this works but painful. Soff gives you more ease.. I would say. And yes sd card will be wiped but you can reformat the sd card.

Simplest way to reformat the sdcard is.. Put it on phone. Go to 4EXT recovery.. Try to mount sdcard there.. It asks you to reformat the card and you do it.. Thats all

May I ask what you mean by 'more ease' beyond not having to use smartflash to flash boot.img on each ROM change? I think with 4EXT Smartflash it handles that automatically anyway?

As for the SD card, it keeps un-mounting suddenly, needing me to pull the back cover off to click it out and back in again. Happens when phone is stationary on a desk so not sure how it can be 'bumped' out or whatever. Not sure if it is related to me turning on sd card encryption either, but only started after I tried the S-OFF wire trick a few times, and possibly after I enabled disk encryption.

Smartflash not always works.. And when it fails the phone won't boot until you flash boot.img of the rom separately.

For sdcard use a card reader and format it on pc.. There is a good tool called sdformatter (if windows).. And you can use it to format the non working sdcard.

Also check the link present in troubleshoot point #4 of this guide.. There are couple of commands which you can use and reformat the sd

so you didn't S-OFF either... I'm not noticing any 'draw back' from not having S-OFF (so far). Kinda sucks having to manually flash this boot.img thing though, maybe after a few flashes I'll be pretty tired of it and want to try S-OFF again. Damn it sounds HARD though.

Just a little heads up people.

Now team unlimited has removed windows support for this juopunutbear soff method due to high risk rate of screwing up phones in the process.

Check this post for further details
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39370288

So don't ask me for windows version of the soff tool anymore.
I'll re-edit the OP so that only Linux version is supported later tomorrow morning

So from now on to have soff you got to use Linux :)

Cheers

Hi,

Look HERE
Follow the thread to install 4 EXT recovery ,if you do not already have it.
Then, follow the rest of the thread to use smartflash and install a ROM.

using controlbear should NOT wipe your sdcard. i have done this method over 15 times and it has never wiped my sdcard any of the times i used it tho i did have to manually remount sdcard from settings/storage/ then click mount sdcard but apart from that its fine. first time i used it it took me nearly 21 times to get the wire trick just right but now i can do it in 1 go
