Ok, so i finished the whole tutorial now. But in my bootloader it still says S-ON and LOCKED. Is my device still unlocked or does this mean it didn't work?

Is the wire trick success?
Or did you just did the one click root?

Control Bear can't Find Device

I've try to do s-off as you told, but when I do wire trick, the control bear always can't find my device, always resetting connection.... bla..bla... (I attach the screen)
I try to push power button, the control bear then find the device, but the result is always Still Sober.....
What should I do????
One more thing, after that happened, my sdcard always read can't be read/unformated. is it normal?

I read again the steps, and I begin confuse, because in PREREQUISITES it say :
3. Uninstall HTC sync and any other device syncing softwares.. They interfere with the soff tool we are going to use (also when connecting the phone just keep it in charging mode)

and then in the step to run this tools
3.Plug your HTC SENSATION/XE/4G into your computer via USB. (keep the connection in HTC SYNC mode)

So, should I uninstall HTC sync or not? What I've done is uninstall it.

both modes will work fine
to avoid the confusion I've corrected the tutorial (thanks for mentioning it )

1. uninstalling HTC Synch, disable antivirus, enable debugging, check Fastboot at the battery menu (already try to uncheck it also but the result just the same), connect phone with original USB cable (even try with another cable)
2. temproot ----> OK, successful
3. controlbear ----> It's running well until wire trick, after several try then the screen say "waiting device" and counting to 45, but then it will resetting connection again and again. (see my attachment). It always say "still no device" although I didn't touch my phone. I tried to wait for long time but it still just the same, "still no device". At last I try to push power button, first...nothing happened, second... the phone begin restarting and controlbear "find device" but then "still sober".

Any idea, where I do wrong?
What should I do?
I really need to root my phone because my soft button are broken (do nothing when I touch it, so I can't do : back, menu, home and search).
I've got the apk for softkey, but the device must be rooted.
Help..... please....help.... or my phone will be just a rubbish......

for your case this below statement explains the stuff

If your phone goes blank (powers off) before/after the second tap & stays that way, it is indicative of the pause time being too large or the contact being made for too long, due to which the phone powered off. Just press the power button ONCE to get the phone started again. If this happens every time you do the wiretrick, then you have a faulty SD Card; use a different one. If this doesn't get your phone on again, then read ahead.

Finally it is successful Soff and Root as well.
But still don't understand why the apk still say :"can't execute as root" although the permission to superuser already granted.
Is there someone know why?

Is it available to temp root my Sensation XE (hboot 1.29, android 4.0.3) by the steps 1~5 listed below under a windows PC and then change to a linux PC to use the dd command (for example, dd if=/dev/<blockdevice> of=/sdcard/image bs=4096) to acquire a .dd image of my phone?

I have some deleted files in my phone, and need a .dd image to recovery the deleted files. Thank you.

1.get this temproot-sensation-windows zip file
TEMPROOT ZIP

2.Extract temproot-sensation-windows.zip into a directory on your computer.

3.Plug your HTC SENSATION/XE/4G into your computer via USB. (keep the connection in "charging" mode)
Recommended: Plug your device’s USB cable into the back of your computer if you’re using a desktop PC.

4.Enable USB Debugging on your HTC sensation. Settings >> Develop Options >>USB debugging (checked)

5.Double click temp_root.bat to run the script and wait until it completes. Don't touch the device during the entire process.

Yes it will work. But after the temproot the Ui is unstable so don't touch it. Still add works though

Thanks for your answering. Should I go back to windows and run "temp_root_remove.bat" to un-root my phone after I finish acquiring the .dd image? or just reboot my phone and it will restore automatically?
