during the wire method, my sensation gets detected as qualcomm hs-usb qdloader 9008 by windows, and the controlbear keeps going hmm no device..

Did you installed drivers for Sensation,they are installed with HTC Sync.
Or try with Ubuntu live,you have tutorial on unlimited.io.

You can download an ubuntu live cd and boot that to run the linux control bear. I don't believe they maintain the windows version any longer. Its very easy to download and boot. It is what I did and worked like a charm.

hey ganeshp, I've been sent your way from HERE. I'm looking for the s-off tool for HBOOT 1.27 but that runs off windows ... Also, do you have some links to stock ICS 4.0.3 for doing the S-OFF as I'm currently running inspiration 1.0.1 with Sense 5 mod, and I understand I need to be back on stock to perform S-OFF

EDIT: Before updating to inspiration 1.0.1 I backed up my old system, if I restore this I should be back on Stock right?

if your backup is the stock one then yes you are fine
otherwise for stock rom see in my signature

Of your ultimate goal is to just flash custom ROMs then you can do it without being sOff. Just unlock bootloader and flash 4EXT custom recovery and enable smartflash in the tools option in recovery.

hello guys i was trying to soff severeal times now, with no success,

I did all the steps,
i was reading a lot of tips on official controlbear page and in xda
reading tips for wire tric etc but here is what happens:

1. i make temp root, and everything is ok reboots it only status bar and htc crashes cant do anything with it.
2. i atempt to use control bear , it start writes and than ask for wire trick, but nothing happen with the phone, it does not reboot, does not go to bootloader no where same thing as before starting operation.
3. i try to make wire trick, and with the first tap, phone reboots, i tryed a lot of times with guyds and fast tap 2 times ,and tapping with 1.5sec , less more , nothing happens it only goes off until i press power button, or if i tap once it restarts

Please help me

1. Is expected you won't see the juopunutbear logo
2. Change the wire or the tapping orientation might be different ..refer video in troubleshoot point #3 for this
3. Dont even bother about restarts and complete the wire trick ..with 1.5 sec or less pause between the taps
