I saw that Ilvmyname already replied. My take on this is because the bootloader is already locked I would clean all and lock to try and get the phone back to stock condition.

Did you try? Did it work?
I tried but it didn't work. No imei. After that I tried some of the multiple ways of flashing imei with QPST but almost all guides are for dual sims, my phone is single sim. So I tried enetering imei in slot 1, both slots, and slot 2. Only time it got written was when I entered it in slot 2. But when the system boots the imei is there but it won't work. So again reverted back to lollipop 5.1.1. and girlfriend is using it like that for now.

Hey guys,

I am getting error 7 in TWRP when trying to update LOS weekly. It says modem assert failed. Can someone here help me out with how to tackle this. Thanks. :)

You have to extract NON-HLOS.bin from the latest MIUI firmware.

1. Download the MIUI ROM (Fastboot version) from Mi website and extract it using WinRAR.
2. Go to the images folder and copy NON-HLOS.bin to the folder where you have Fastboot.
3. Reboot your phone to Fastboot (I assume you know how to do this)
4. Connect your device and type in the command
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
5. Try to install it again.

Even I got the same problem on my Kenzo, and this worked for me. Cheers:good:

Read the same solution online.

Do i need the bootloader unlocked? I am guessing no.

And also, can i use the bin file from the latest xiaomi.eu Rom stable?? I have that with me currently.

Thanks.

You need the bootloader unlocked because with locked bootloader fastboot cannot flash critical partitions (bootloader, system, modem, etc.) so, yeah, bootloader unlocked.

Im not too sure about rom stable, i used the latest global dev rom. I'd recommend that unless you want to risk it.

Okay so the firmware or the Modem, what needs to be flahshed?
You just take NON-HLOS.bin from the MIUI global dev rom's image folder and flash it using 'fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin'. No more complications.

P.S. You need to download fastboot version of global developer MIUI for RN3 Snapdragon. Just check if its all of the above.

Reply me if it bootloops or something. First boot takes 10-15 minutes. Experience:D

It sounds weird but, did you bought the phone and didn't even boot it up once and tried to flash the recovery straight away?

I am on latest LOS nightly, now my phone is showing headphones icon continuously even when the headphones/earphones are not connected. I cannot hear anything while calling normally, only when i put it on loudspeaker i can hear everything.

Also i tried playing songs, no voice, but when i connect headphones, i can hear everything.

It seems that the system assumes the headphones are connected even when they are not.

Someone please help me out. Thanks. :)

Are you sure it's not a hardware problem?

That happened to me too. It was too annoying, I can't hear any ringtones. So, this is most probably a hardware problem and what you need to do is insert a headphone cable in the slot, take it out, and repeat till the headphone jack works as expected. This happened when I had MIUI about 5 months ago, tho. Try it.

Am also thinking of reverting back to Miui for another try. What is the process before I start?
As I remember, if you're rooted (which I think isn't possible without unlocked bootloader?) You should unroot. Then download Mi Flash, and download the fastboot rom for your device, then root... I think that's about it
